Party Planning ideas - Avengers/Water slide, favor, food, activites

I am currently planning my DS2's 4th bday party (which is in less than 2 weeks!) but I'm having trouble coming up with ideas to go with our theme/activity.

I've seen some really great ideas on these threads so please help mamas (and dads).

He's having an Avengers themed party. Same theme as last year, his choice, he never wavered
I didn't need to do a favor last year bc we had a balloon artist so that was they could take home.

This year, I have additional stress bc I invited his pre-school class (vs just our friends and their kids) and my parents will be visiting from OOS; my mom will surely be commenting on my party choices.

I don't know what to do as a favor for 3-4 year olds plus a couple of 7 year olds. I like giving favors out, but I just can't think of something good. All I have in mind so far is Avenger themed Pez dispensers in an Avenger cup with ???

Also, we're having an inflatable water slide to serve as entertainment. It's fun but I still think I need something else for them to do. Water balloons? Or is age 3-4 too little for that? We're in FL and it is brutally hot and humid now (party is in AM bc PM is unbearable) so I feel like I need a water activity for them to cool down. We do have a swing set and climbing dome but may be too hot, IDK.

Food? My mother frowns upon pizza being served at a kids party. And to be honest, FL pizza su*ks big time. But what else can I serve as kids food for lunch? Including for parents. Lunch food.

Water balloons is great. I saw a cool idea with kiddie pools on Pinterest if you have the space. One was filled with water balloons and the other was filled with water guns. Maybe give a water gun as part of the favor.

Food since it's so hot keep it simple. Chips and dip, fruit bowl and veggies platter. Hero for the adults with some salads and chicken nuggets and fries for the kids.

I did a super hero party for my son - things they liked

we did a hulk smash relay - I got 2 pairs of hulk gloves and I turned milk cartons into buildings. each child ran down and smashed a milk carton and ran back and traded the gloves.

another relay I did was I made pretend fires - they had to run around the fires and retrieve a stuffed animal to save it and run back for the next person to come.

I set up an obstacle course of weaving poles low hurdles, tunnel, little slide as super hero training

we also did a scavenger hunt for the favor -I printed up pictures of bad guys that stole the favors - then I put a picture of the next bad guy on the back of each guy in an envelope- the kids loved racing around the yard - I have also hidden the piñata this way for another party

another idea if your husband is a good sport - dress him up as a bad guy and give the water guns and water balloons to the kids - and let the attack the bad guy

Favors can be those foam water sprayers. They can use them at the party and then take them home after.
As for food, what about wedges and assorted salads, chips and dips. You can just do chicken nuggets and Mac n cheese for the kids
