Saturday morning party time

There is a place that offers a party at 9:30am or 7:30pm on a Saturday for 50% off the original price. Personally, I would have no problem taking my kids to a 9:30am party because they're up and ready to go by 8, latest. I know other people might have a problem with this though. I don't think I could do a 7:30 party since my kids are usually in bed by 7. The party would be for a 3 year old and then I'm contemplating doing the same thing for my other son's 5th birthday a few months later. What are your thoughts?

On a side note - I can't believe how much birthday parties are! I feel like I have to take out a loan just to pay for one of these!

Saturday morning party time

If I only had those two choices I would absolutely do 9:30. My kids are a hot mess by the time 7:30 rolls around.

I would love a 9:30 party. We can party and then have the whole rest of the day.

I would not go to a 7:30 party.

Not a fan of either. But if you HAD to choose one, definitely the 9:30.

Re: Saturday morning party time

Anyone with young children is up by 9am. It doesn't matter if it is a weekday or weekend. 7:30 is way too late for a 3yo party. I'd pick 9:30.

I'd grumble about the 9:30 but end up being happy with it once I realized we had the whole day . (In fact I would prefer this to a party at 2 or 3) I would avoid 7:30 unless it is mostly family or family friends attending, even then might be tough for many kids.

Been to a couple of 930. It was nice being done by 11. 730 would be hell.

I wish all parties were at 9:30-10am.

7:30 is too late for a 3 year old, in my opinion.

Same. I usually sleep until 8-8:30 on the weekends and like to sit around drinking coffee in my underwear for an hour or so before I have to think about getting dressed, etc
But I'd go if I had to at 930 am

I think 9:30 for little kids is fine. Everyone is already up. I'm having my daughter's 9th birthday party at 10:30 am on Sunday. It's horseback riding followed by pizza. It should be over by 1. So far, no one has complained to me that it's too early, but I guess I'll find out for sure on Sunday.

I'd prefer 9:30 over the evening time. I'd also be forever indebted to you if you had coffee for the adults!

Saturday morning party time

7:30 we would most definitely decline- we wouldn't get home until after 9, that would be a nightmare for my kids. 9:30 would be fine- we are all up and dressed and ready for the day by 8 am. Plus, when the party is over we still have the whole day ahead of us. I dislike parties that start at 1 or 2 pm- that is smack in the middle of the day and makes it difficult to plan for anything before or after.
