TTC again...do I go right to the dr?

My DH and I had a difficult time conceiving our 2nd child. We tried for a year and ended up having an IUI, which we were blessed took right away. We are trying for our 3rd and I'm not sure how long we should try on our own before going back or if we shouldn't wait at all. I'm 36 now if that makes a difference.

I would go back right away but I dont like to waste time especially if you have fertility issues

I would try for 6 months before going back. Dd1 took us a year and a half, 4 iuis and 2 ivfs. Dd2 was natural, first try.

It's really preference. I went through years, many IVF attempts, and a surrogate, before having a successful pregnancy and having my son. Then I got pregnant narurally on my first try back in the game, but had a miscarriage.... and almost a year later here I am.

I say do what makes you comfortable.

I'd try for a few months and then go back to your RE.

I was 36 when i started TTC # 2 and went right to the OB after sort of half assing it for a few months prior. I did 3 rounds of timed intercourse with clomid, then 3 IUI's with clomid. after a disastrous third IUI (my OB had done them) I sought treatment with RMA. that was another 6 months.

Honestly, I wouldnt waste much more time. I regret wasting the time that I did. # 2 never worked out for me.

I hate that this comes into play but how is your insurance? If you are covered might as well go back after a couple months, without covered I might try a touch longer but not more then 6 months.
