New Eyeglasses w/No Insurance
Last time I got new glasses was three years ago so I really need a new pair, but I no longer have eye coverage at my job. What's the best option? I know I can order online with a prescription but how much do eye exams cost nowadays?

I go to Walmart for my exam. It's like $100 or so, and then I order my glasses and contacts online. The Walmart I go to is very thorough with the exam, they do the dilation, the air puff thing, etc.

Check out Warby Parker. They have so many cute frames and they are really reasonable.

I've heard costco is a good price. I think my exam by the optometrist is usually around $100, but I get glasses and contacts. Glasses only might be a little cheaper. I usually go to a shop in my hometown, but have also used lenscrafters when I needed a quick appointment.

My optometrist charges $75 for an exam. Frames, well it all depends on what you want!

Re: New Eyeglasses w/No Insurance
I don't have eye coverage but a visit to an opthamologist is covered, not an optometrist. I think most places charge $85 - $100 with no coverage at all.

I think I paid $45 at LensCrafters or one of those stores. It's free with the purchase of glasses, but the frames were so expensive, so I paid the $45 and got frames on 110 near Target at a discount frame place.

I did Walmart. Was about $110 for the exam and the glasses total. I always paid roughly the same when I had ibsurance anyway

Re: New Eyeglasses w/No Insurance
If you have medical insurance you may have vision included utilizing an opthamologist/ optometrist. So check your medical benefit summary before you pay for an exam.
