So what do we think Jays (the guy who knows Liza's secret) motive is? He's going to hit her with something no doubt. But I feel black mail is too obvious.
I think he just likes her - no blackmail but wants to date her.

I think he legit likes her too. but she just isn't into to him, but Charles thinks she is, and he isn't into his ex, but Liza thinks they are getting back together.

but looks like Charles thinks her career is more important since she won't throw away the book.
but why is the Ex still referring to him as her husband?? haven't they been divorced for years? or it's not final? and why does Charles have custody of the girls?
Josh is totally marrying that Irish chick

I'm a little fuzzy on the timeline. I *think* the ex has really only been gone a little over a year. She just up and left them all and moved to CA - didn't want custody of the kids b/c she was finding herself. I don't think they've said that the ex wanted a break or if Charles just wanted to end it since she left. He said they were separated for a while (at least 2 seasons), but I think he's referred to being divorced in the later seasons. In the first season, the first episode they introduced Charles is when his wife first left b/c Diana was talking about pouncing on him.
I think it's weird anytime their two names are said together - Charles and Diana (like Prince Charles and Princess Diana).
Charles is in publishing and should understand how important it would be to Liza. She's done some things over the seasons to show she has more ambition (trying to be the mommy book doctor, writing Jade's 1st chapter, etc). I don't see why he can't understand that they would put their relationship on hold until the book editing is done, and how having his ex move into the townhouse would look suspicious to Liza. He says he likes her with his words and kisses, but he hasn't done much to show her professionally or in his personal life (allowing the ex to move in).
I wish Liza would say - it's weird dating the boss, instead of just saying it won't work. At least then he could understand. I'm not sure how I feel about her telling him she's actually 40. I think that the way the writers show how he feels, that Charles would be relieved, but then I also feel the writers would use it as a way for him to be mad at her like they did with Josh and Kelsey - to extend the drama of the show.

Yeah - and they're adorable together.
Thoughts on last night's episode?
Josh and Claire - hate them together. I really like Josh and feel like their relationship was too fast for me to care, and now I don't like her. Especially when they were talking about how much sex they had in front of Liza. Blech!
Charles' ex is a mousy bag of blah and he needs someone a little more feisty. You can't tell me that page 58 really happened with that bland woman.

i feel like I missed an episode cause I don't remember Liza introducing Josh to Claire? I feel like Josh is going to get there and see Claire has a boyfriend or something there waiting for her.
I'm hoping Jay tells Charles how Liza feels about him. He seems like such a great guy but him and Liza do not belong together. there is absolutely no chemistry.

That was pretty shady of Charles to hire Zan (?) knowing the history with him and Kelsey. But i guess he did what he could to get the writer back.
i feel like eventually Liza and Charles will get together. and when that happens the wife is going to lose her mind because she thinks her and Liza are friends.

I think Diana has been lonely (like what she was saying to her therapist about everyone being in a couple and it's pathetic to be single in the Hamptons for the summer), so I get why she was manipulated so easily. He made her feel good about herself and desirable (and she liked that he was a Dr). But it was easy for him to manipulate her over time and she finally came to her senses when he seriously thought she would move out of her swanky apt to a 2 bedroom for his son. I thought Diana's part of the episode was the best part - showing that she realized she doesn't need to be in a relationship and that she's strong, but not so strong that she didn't stumble and reach for Liza's support on the runway.

Sigh - disappointing finale. I get that Josh would kiss Liza when he's drunk, but I'm super annoyed that she kissed him back when she admitted she's in love with Charles.
Diana telling Charles they're like ships in the night was funny. She's so delusional! It'll be interesting to see if Charles & Liza get together - how Diana will take it.
Bummed we have to wait until April for the new season.

I read a really great interview with Darren Star. Sounds like he advocates for not stringing along Charles & Liza too long (if that's where they go). Looks like they start writing season 5 in October, films in Feb (when it's freezing in NYC!), and airs in April.

She already did, but put it in a sweet Irish way. She told Liza last night that she knows her secret and she owes it to Josh to lie for them. She didn't come out fully with blackmail, but it was definitely implied.
