I Love Kickboxing - bumped with a follow up question
Anyone ever belong/attend classes? I'm thinking of buying a Groupon but was hoping to get some first hand info first, if possible.
Thanks!
Glad to hear all the positive reviews! So, for the first time I go, do I just show up to a scheduled class, or do I call ahead of time to "register" or whatever? The Groupon says it includes a 40 minute personal training session - is that to "learn" what to do, or something else?
Thanks again!

Re: I Love Kickboxing
I did it last year (Groupon too). I think it was 10 classes? I liked it. Definitely a hard workout. I only used it b/c my trainer was away so all I needed was those 10 classes. I have a friend that is a member. Goes all the time.
Everyone at my location was very nice. Always posting on their FB group to motivate.

I haven't been but my friend did and raved about it. Said instructors were friendly and great motivators.

Re: I Love Kickboxing
I got a Groupon for it, but never actually signed up. I really enjoyed the class, it's a hard workout, you walk out feeling great BUT I hated the fact that they don't limit the # of people to a class. Once I started having to work on a bag with 3 other people, I said it's not for me. Now maybe that was just a really busy location, but I can't see that being the case since you don't have to sign up for a class, call ahead, you basically just show up.

i did it two years ago and loved it, it was just expensive to keep up with after the groupon ended (~125 monthly) not sure if prices or packages have changed.

I Love Kickboxing
I'm going to start next week. We just formed a team at work for a "fitness challenge" for 8 weeks, starting next week, so I want to coincide with that. I'm looking forward to it! Thanks everyone!

Re: I Love Kickboxing
i LOVE kickboxing. I went to CKO though. A friend of mine who used to go to CKO with me as well tried I love KB and said CKO was better. I haven't personally tried ILK - and i have friends that SWEAR by that place. so everyone is different obviously.
either way - its still a great workout and you will definitely see results! Good luck!!

Re: I Love Kickboxing - bumped with a follow up question
I started out with a 10 class groupon then they pressure you to join after the 3rd class or so. I bought a package of classes (not a monthly fee). I was going about 1X a week for a few months but once I started going 2X I started noticing a difference. The groupon is a really good deal since it comes with the gloves too! just show up to a scheduled class, a few mins early so you can fill out paperwork.

I would call first to make sure you dont need to reg first. I would hate to show up and find they are filled up
if not do what poster above stated, get there early to fill out paper work

I did the Groupon. You need to make an appointment for your class. You need to fill out paper work and they talk to you about your needs and wants and explain how the class works. Also they have to make sure there is an instructor to teach you the proper moves they are doing.
