PMS - rage issues
I posted this in the health section too, but i figured this is a more active board AND mostly women....
Lately, i have having extreme rage issues while PMS-ing...i'm on birth control, and have been for about 1 year now. I was off it for a while while having kids, and prior to that i was on it for YEARS....never had this issue before. anyone experience this and any recommendations on how to help?? I find myself screaming like a lunatic (outside the normal mom-gone-crazy stuff) and cant seem to get it under control...i feel like its definitely hormonal because its only happened around my period time....

I have been having extremes with hormones also since having my 3rd. My OB just put me on the pill to see if it levels me out. Maybe try a different pill? I remember I had issues many years ago taking one and she switched me to something else that was better for me. I feel like sometimes your body adapts to the pill and you need to change it up.

Re: PMS - rage issues
My PMS has definitely gotten worse since having my DD and getting into my 40s too. And my periods are more regular now so I get my period more often than I used to (I used to go months without it) so I have PMS more often too.
And my PMS used to be a few days before my period. Now it's from the second I ovulate until I get it. 2 full weeks of carrying around 5 lbs of water weight, getting pimples, my boobs KILLING me worse than when I was pregnant, and depression, moodiness, anxiety.
I get dark thoughts about terrible things happening. I wake up with a racing, anxious heart. I cry. At everything. I feel sorry for myself. some days it is all i have to just get out of bed when my period is really close. Once I told my boss I had to work from home and just laid in bed with my laptop and cried.
So yeah, I hear ya.

PMS - rage issues
Wow this is me!! I swear the day before I get my period I turn into a raging lunatic. There are times after my kids have gone to bed where I sit and cry because I feel so bad about yelling at them. I was never ever this bad. Wish I had advice for you. I do lock myself in the bathroom every so often and calm down. It helps sometimes.

My doctor had suggested I take Calcium when I told her about how I was feeling before my period - very similar to you. I'm an asshat, so I haven't tried it, but maybe that will help.

Re: PMS - rage issues
My friends and I talk about this all the time...Its insane how bad PMS becomes after having children, and it definitely got even worse after having my second. I have never had PMS like this prior to kids.
No suggestions...but you are not alone! lol

This is exactly me! It's so bad. Cramps like I've never had in all my life. Skin is sh*t. The depression before my period is alarming and it starts right after ovulation. Just an over all emotional mess. And my period lingers for a good week it "starts" before it really starts. It's all just terrible.
