Lipoma
I have a lipoma on my back by my neck- has anyone had one removed? Is it done right in the office? Any MD recommendations? Thanks!

Re: Lipoma
I had one removed that was just above my shoulder blade a couple of years ago. It was done in the office. It was no biggy.
I'm in the Huntington area and Dr. William Martin performed the surgery (he was great!). I've also had Dr. Filipe Sobral as a surgeon and he's fantastic as well. (They're in the same office.)

I have one on my inner leg. How do they usually remove them? Just a shot to numb the area?

Local anesthesia, then cut the skin to remove it. Mine was the size of my fist (prob 4-5" wide). It was a decent size. They asked me if I wanted to see it.
I have a visible scar, but it probably wouldn't have been as visible if I didn't over-exert myself and cause a hematoma. (I was "entertaining" my infant about by lifting her over my head about a week after surgery. )

Re: Lipoma
I had one on my shoulder blade I had removed a few times. It kept coming back. It was in an area where if I wore tank tops you could clearly see. I had it done in office one time and at the hospital at the other times. Mine was a good size. The one time I did it in office should not have been done that way, as the doctor was short staffed and left some of it. I saw a general surgeon the first time and then went to plastic surgeons.
