Recommendation needed NOT LIIVF
Hello ! I am new to the board and looking for hope ! I was naturally pregnant almost two years ago and lost my daughter at 23 weeks. After a year of trying after our loss I turned to Long Island IVF. I have done 5 transfers. One took but ended at 9 weeks. We just did another with a PGS tested embryo. I’m waiting for the results today but I cheated and already know it is a BFN. With that said I’m not ready to give up knowing woman do this for years. BUT I might need to switch things up. LIIVF was convenient as far as morning monitoring on the way to work. I am looking for something convenient but I know I might have to make some sacrifices. Also I feel like LIIVF lab is always “shutting down” . They have series and you have to get in for that cycle or wait for the next one which is annoying . If anyone has an RE that they love as well as living the office and staff. At LIIVF I feel like you mostly deal with nurses and sono techs. I just want a little more attention at this point.

I feel the same way and am leaving if I'm not pregnant this month.
I have 3 good friends that have all had successful IVF results. Their doctors were Dr. Hershlag, Dr. Zapantis, and Dr. Palter.
According to my friend, she loved Dr. Hershlag, but she also felt like the office was like a cattle call. Luckily, she was only there for 1 month, 1 transfer, and got pregnant.
My other friend used Dr. Zapantis for her first daughter and is now pregnant again a year later. Her first transfer worked both times. She loves him. It's a small practice and she sees him at every appt. He even does her sonos.
For me, it was between Zapantis and Palter but I made an appt. with Dr. Palter for next month and I'm really looking forward to meeting with him. His SART success rates are really high.
LIIVF was convenient for me too but I am willing to sacrifice sleep and driving at this point. I will need to leave my house at least an hour earlier than usual. Hopefully it's worth it!
ETA: I should maybe add that two of the three didn't have true infertility issues. The one that used Hershlag wanted genetic testing since one of her two children had a fatal genetic condition. The one that used Zapantis is gay so she needed donor sperm.
Good luck to you!!

Re: Recommendation needed NOT LIIVF
When I was first starting IVF a year ago my gf recommended Gold Coast Dr. Palter but my insurance didn’t cover him. I have new insurance now so I might see if he is covered. I just looked it up and it looks like a 36 min drive for me. I am a school teacher and have to be to work by 835 ??. Do you know the morning monitoring hours? Do you know if they do the famous LIIVF shut down ?

I am a teacher too and need to be in by 8:25. My friend that used him is also a teacher with me and she was able to make it to work on time. I think his hours start at 7 but it's by appt., not first come, first serve like LIIVF. She said they will work with you if you tell them you need an early appt. Not sure about the LIIVF shut down?

Recommendation needed NOT LIIVF
Most office its the nurses and techs you deal with. At RMA the MD did my sono, I'm not sure who does this daily for monitoring. Dr Zapatis is small and might provide more one/one care. He also performed my sono but I didnt stay with his office so I dont know how daily monitoring is done

Re: Recommendation needed NOT LIIVF
LIIVF has series. And the lab shuts down. Like every few weeks. Like you couldn’t start right now . There next start up time is the end of October until 12/5 then the lab shuts down for a few weeks. If you don’t get in before a certain date you have to wait . It’s annoying

That's annoying. I am on my last IUI cycle and am planning on going to IVF next cycle if this doesn't work. My appt. with Palter isn't until Nov. 10th and if I don't get pregnant this month, I should get my period Oct. 25. I'm not sure if I should start an IVF cycle with LIIVF at the end of Oct. or just take a few weeks off until my appt. with Palter. I think I'm leaning toward the latter.

I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Palter! You won't find a better office.

My understanding is that the lab shuts down for 2 week every August. Other than that, it is not shutting down. They do have series and you have to start within the 6-8 week time frame. It was explained to me that they do this to space out the retrievals and transfers so the embryologists can do their jobs well and not have an impossible number of retrievals and/ or transfers at the same time. Anyway, it sounds like you are not happy. I hope the others can give you some good advice and you can find a practice that works better for you.

Recommendation needed NOT LIIVF
I would suggest Dr B exspecially with the 2 losses. You go to Quest early for your blood work and see him in the afternoon. I'm a teacher and it actually worked out really well!
