Lasik
I'm beginning to look into getting LASIK done. I have a consultation at TLC in Garden City since I know some people who have been there.
I have two questions... 1. Has anyone gotten it done recently and can fill me in a bit on the costs?
2. Any experience at TLC? Or recs of a place in the area?
TIA!

I had mine done at Stahl in Garden City. I think they did a good job but I regret the procedure. Maybe if I had it done when I was younger it would have been ok but I got it when I was 44 and the difference in losing my upclose vision was (and still is) jarring. I need glasses to read and I didn't before. Not saying that to scare you away - just something to think about since that wasn't mentioned in my consultation.
For price, I think it was around $4k. He undercorrected one eye to help with the seeing up close but I hated it so he redid that eye 6 months later for free. All the follow up visits were free (I think up to a year).

I had mine done at tlc with dr donnenfeld. I was 26 and had it done 8 years ago. The price was 5k. I was told that it will not fix the issues of needing reading glasses down the road but my vision was spectacular immediately after. It is still pretty good but I feel like I could use an enhancement... I believe they are free for life.

Re: Lasik
I had lasik done at The Lasik Vision Institute in Garden City 2 years ago - best thing I ever did. The cost was $2900 and worth every penny. Did the financing where it was $500 down and then 2 years of payments with no interest. My vision is 20/15 and I have had no issues whatsoever. I just have to go for an eye exam once a year to keep the "warranty" so if I feel my vision is starting to go 5 years from now, they correct it for free.
