Day trip

Are there any nice day trips not too far away during Christmas time? Maybe a cute village or restaurant? It would just be for my husband and I to have a kid free day. We have so many activities planned for the kids so I would like to plan something nice for just us.

Mystic? We went last Oct and loved it. Old Mystic village is adorable and will be all decked out for Christmas

Peddler's Village in Pennsylvania. About 2 hours away.

Newport Rhode Island looks nice, the mansions are decorated, etc.

Gingerbread Wonderland is a local NJ event with about 50+ ginger bread houses that are in a competition for best house. Some are scouts groups and private families but the professional ones are insanely creative. We really enjoy going.

I think if you were able to come the weekend of 12/2-3 you could attend both on your way to Peddler's Village in PA. Alternatively, Teaberry's tea parlor is also nice and near New Hope, which is also nice but I am not sure what is open there.


Also in Morristown, NJ on 12/2 and 3 is the holliday walk with the historic mansions decorated for the holidays.
