I'm looking for elecare or elecare Jr. I have a 2 year old that has major reflux issues and the insurance won't cover it anymore. It's the only "milk like" drink he can handle. I thought it would be an easy transition to milk (as it was with my twins) and I gave cases away not even thinking that I would need the extra. I used to be very active on the boards and passed my extra elecare and alimentum forward through here (I'm not just some person lol).

Oh no!! I am so sorry to hear this. You were nice enough to pass it on to me when my DDs needed it. They are on milk now, but if I come across any I will be sure to pass it on to you. I'll keep my eyes peeled.

My son will be transitioning next month, I go through insurance so if I have extra I’ll pass to you. At one point we had to pay out of pocket when my insurance stopped covering and before we switched to my husbands. It’s so pricy. Unless you have a self insured employer plan, by law they have to cover in NYS and you can go through patient advocacy. My employer was a self insured plan and was exempt

Re: ISO elecare
Thank you Twin Mommy!!I have twins, too, my older two. Please keep me in mind. We did have it covered until 2. We just tried to get it continued, but it was denied and the doctor appealed it, but it was still denied. After 2, my insurance only covers it when it is the only nutrition source through a feeding tube. We are finally seeing some improvement with his reflux and are going to try a very slow transition again.

Thank you so much LInMN!! Never thought I would need it. Lol my twins were on Alimentum and transitioned so well. I gave 57 bottles away. I thought it would be the same with the elecare. I did have a ton left over. We're just running low and I still need to try to transition again.

No problem! Good to know in case we are on long term! I’m starting my transition in 2 weeks so if it goes well, I’ll likely have a few cans left!
