New stairs and railing
Who did you use?
About how much did you spend?
Pictures?
We are in the preliminary stages of redoing our steps. We have a split, so it's 5 up and 5 down.
We have to redo the railing/banister, too, because the regulations back in the 50's are so not what they are today and they need to be about 5 inches taller. Could we get away with what we have? Yes, but I'd rather be safe.

Re: New stairs and railing
we used HB Millwork in Medford- they did our banister and railings (we did iron balusters) they did a great job. I believe it was about 1800? They didn't do the finish on the wood- we had someone else come and refinish the steps and stain everything - the prior owners had carpet and taking all the staples out of the treads was the worst....
we also priced Deer Park stairs and they were more money

New stairs and railing
we used A Step Above Stair Builder in Bellmore for our stairs and railings. We didn't get full price quotes from anyone else, we did check out another stair place also in bellmore at the time but they weren't helpful when we went in there.
Pricing seemed good to us. I don't recall exact nubmers but I think it was like 1400 for our steps installed(we were down to the studs at the time) and maybe around the same for the railings, iron with wood.
The stair guys stained the treads. We painted the kickers and stained the railing.
