Our trip to Disney
We only had 1 day to do 1 park so we went to Magic Kingdom, of course! We were there this past Monday.
We checked into AS Music on Sunday night and were put in building 6 which was pretty far from Melody Hall but it was fine. Nothing to write home about but clean and sufficient for a place to sleep and shower. I knew we wouldn't want to walk back after spending the whole day at the park so we drove to Melody Hall and parked there to catch the bus. The bus was there already and waiting for more passengers since there were EMH at Animal Kingdom so that line was huge. We took the first bus at 8am. Getting from the bus through security and into the park took less than 10 minutes. We had 1 stroller for my 2 year old who has CP and we rented one for my 3.5 year old at the park. Then we headed to City Hall to get a wheelchair tag and a DAS (disability) pass. We watched the rope drop at the castle and I teared up watching my older one get so excited at seeing all of the characters.
We had FP booked for Elena/Cinderella, Peter Pan, and 7DMT for DD1/DH and Small World for DD2 and myself. We did the carousel first and then went over to Elena/Cinderella, which was fantastic. Then we headed to the Ariel ride to use the DAS pass. There was a very short FP line so they let us go right in! Then we went next to meet Ariel and the same thing! Went to Dumbo after that and again, there was no FP line so they let us right in. It was amazing! DD1 loved Peter Pan and we actually ended up DASing it later on in the day because she wanted to go on it again. We ordered lunch from Pinocchio via mobile and that took no time at all. It was ready by the time we parked DD1's stroller and found a seat. Once we used all the FP, we had some time before the next one I was able to get (Haunted Mansion) and the DAS pass to Pirates so we caught the end of the street dance party and then watched the Friendship Faire. Seeing DD1's face light up and her singing songs at the top of her lungs made my day. After Haunted Mansion and Pirates, the parade had started. I figured that might be the best time to head over to Mickey and it was! I asked for a time using the DAS and there was no one on line so they let us right in! After that we headed to Monsters Inc. and that was better than I anticipated. It was also nice to get out of the hot sun. On the way to Aladdins Magic Carpets, DD1 had a Mickey ice cream bar and I waited on a very long line for a Dole Whip (worth it!) to share with DD2. We had some time to kill before the next FP so we went on Small World again since with the stroller as a wheelchair, I knew we could get on quickly. We did a bit of souvenir shopping and then used our last FP on Winnie the Pooh. Last was Peter Pan before heading to snag a spot for the fireworks, which were spectacular.
It was such a wonderful day! We walked nearly 8 miles, according to my phone. The joy in my kids faces is something I'll always remember. The DAS pass and wheelchair tag were lifesavers. DD2 has cerebral palsy and cannot walk. I can't imagine how our day would have been like if we had to wait on line while holding her for long periods of time.
Tuesday morning, we had an early character breakfast booked at the Beach Club Resort - Minnie's Beach Bash. It was decent and Minnie, GOofy, and Donald came by multiple times. I have to say I was amazed at the characters. DD2 is terrified of a lot, including giant mice, dogs, and ducks They immediately backed away and obliged my request at future trips to our table to just stand behind her seat so I could get a picture of her with them, without her knowing. We had to head to the airport right after.
BTW, what the hell is with TSA at Orlando airport? They had us remove all snacks from our bags and place them in a bin as well as electronics bigger than a cell phone in a separate bin, then shoes and jackets in yet another separate bin. It took forever and there really wasn't much of a line. Such a pain with 2 kids, 1 who can't walk, carry on bags, diaper bag, stroller, and 2 car seats!

Our trip to Disney
Glad you had a good time! Disney is so accommodating and great with those who have special needs. Love a Dole Whip!!
As far as Orlando airport, it's a joke. But, in case you didn't know...they have a special needs line. You just go in the line that has the wheelchair sign. When we went in the fall, everyone in the regular line was having to take all of their candy from Mickey's Halloween party out of their bags...but in the wheelchair line, they didn't seem to care.

Re: Our trip to Disney
Glad you had a great time. We are going in March for just 2 days (adding on to a family event), with my grandkids who are 5 1/2,3 1/2, and 1 1/2. We also have a breakfast at Cape May the day we leave. Good to know about the Orlando airport.
