Best Trip you have taken with a toddler
Other than Disney, what is the best trip you have ever taken with a toddler (age 4)?
We've done Dutch Wonderland/Eden for the last 2 years and I am looking for new ideas. We are fine with flying somewhere as my DS loves planes!

We took the kids to Edaville (thmas the train theme park) in Massachusetts. It was a lot of fun, the kids loved it. We broke up the trip by stopping at Mystic Aquarium.

We went there last year as my ILS live about an hour away. It was fun, but we literally went on the hottest day of the year and there is NO shade at the park. We all melted!!

Have you been to Sesame? My kids love it and it's so close. I would do that while he is still young. We have season passes. My 5 year old still loves it. I think Kalahari was one of their favorites.

what about renting a beach house- we love the outer banks in north carolina. my son had a great time just playing in the sand for the week we also liked a cruise at that age, too- everything is taken care of for you, so its really relaxing!! plus, at 4 he can go to the kid's club while you and DH sit by the adult pool for a little bit
Also- a couple of years, we actually rented an RV for a few nights. that was another thing that was great with a young kid. because you can just take it to your house and load it up with all the toys they want to bring, snacks for them, etc. its nice because you always have everything with you- bathroom, food, toys, whatever We took it to ohio one year and did the columbus zoo which was great and the airfare museum which was also cool for DS to see all the planes. another year we did update NY and stopped in lake placid, lake george...

I like the Jersey Shore for that age. You have the beach, a hotel pool, the boardwalk with a whole section of rides for the younger kids. Then there is the Cape May Zoo if you do Cape May/Diamond Beach/Wildwood area- it is amazing and it is free. Has some small rides, a nice playground, and tons of awesome animals

Beaches T&C!
In driving distance we love Sea Colony in Bethany Beach DE. Resort-ish feel but a condo so it was easy to go up for naps and feed them.

Hilton Head Island. We took DS when he had just turned two. We had a blast. We stayed at Disney's resort there.

Yep, my DS looooved Hilton Head and asks often when he can go back!
We rented a condo though.
My kids love the beach so they are happy with any beachy thing.
They also love Woodloch Pines, which we do every year.

Re: Best Trip you have taken with a toddler
We're beach people so we rent houses near the water. We've done OBX, Hilton Head, Montauk, even the west coast of Florida. The kids love to just play in the sand and water, and we usually find a few activities nearby to break up the days. But my family could spend weeks at the beach and never get bored so for us that's the perfect vacation.
We've also done theme park vacations too. My kids loved those too, but personally I hate being utterly exhausted, frustrated and sore at the end of the day.

Re: Best Trip you have taken with a toddler
If you are OK with flying, we took our two littles to San Fran and had an AMAZING trip. So much to see and do for kids. Gorgeous scenery. And Sausalito has a crazy fun outdoor children's museum.
