Help me with my grocery shopping list.....
Need to eat healthier and shed some weight..
Going food shopping this weekend to get some healthier choices for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
What should I add to my list? I'm clueless since I am a junk food eater.
Thanks!

Re: Help me with my grocery shopping list.....
Have you considered trying Hello Fresh or something like that? They deliver all the food and you cook up healthy meals with their recipes. It’s been a life saver for me.
I don’t care for junk food, but I buy it sometimes.
A list for me would consist of:
Chicken thighs Tons of veggies and herbs (what veggies do you like?) Pork tenderloin Fish, shellfish, or beef (it depends on where I can get the quality stuff) Eggs (this is a biggie) Fruit Yogurt (non-sweetened and natural yogurt) Cheese cubes for snacks Bacon (so not healthy) Sausage (hey, it’s my location that makes me buy this!)
I could add more stuff to this depending on the week, but this is usually what I would buy.

I would start by meal planning and go from there. Otherwise you may end up with a fridge full of food that doesn't get eaten. I choose produce based on the sales and that typically drives my menu.
That said, my staples tend to include Chicken breast Shrimp Broccoli Peppers Spinach Carrots Bananas Apples Lemons Brown rice Quinoa Steel cut oats Sweet potatoes Various beans Hummus

This! I think meal planning is essential to being successful. I also think a food scale is beneficial so you can measure out appropriate serving sizes. People focus so much on excessive calorie restriction and eating "clean" and that is hard to maintain. Most of the time just lessening portions of your favorite foods is all you need to do to initially see results.
With that said, my typical weekday food looks like that.
Breakfast: Old Fashioned Oats made with milk, PB, and a banana/strawberry
Lunch: 100 g of shredded chicken with salsa, brown rice, and a vegetable (corn, broccoli, or green beans)
Dinner: Varies - I cook more or less every night and use the SkinnyTaste site for ideas.
Snacks: Greek Yogurt with Granola Pretzels Portioned Cheese Fresh Fruit: Apples, Cantaloupe, Grapes, Berries Hardboiled Eggs
I also usually have a sweet treat everyday, but I am cognizant of the recommended serving size.

Agree should definitely meal prep or have a plan. Or else you may throw out food.
