Make-up vanity/station

I am tired of doing my make up in the bathroom.

Does anyone use a vanity/desk mirror to do their make up?

What is your set up?

I do. I have an antique desk/secretary that I have a makeup mirror on. I have a small shelf unit next to it to keep everything I use and a basket for appliances - blow dryer, curling iron etc

Where do you have these stations? In your bedroom?

In the house I recently sold, we turned a bedroom next to the master bedroom into a dressing room where I had my vanity set up. We put a door between the 2 rooms, and built big closets into the room. It was great. Everywhere else I have lived I have had it set up in my bedroom

Ah. I wish I had the space. I hate doing make up in the bathroom- not only does the dust from powders and blushes etc get everywhere and in bedded into the moldings etc, but the lighting is never really right. I look SO different when I look in the mirror in my office in natural window light.

My bedroom has ZERO space for anything else at this point. Too small and too much furniture.

I do have a room that we turned into kind of a walk in closet, but we also have a computer desk in there so not much room

Ughhhhh

I have this: IKEA Brimnes in my bedroom. It’s small and fits perfectly, and I have a little stool that tucks right underneath. I love it. It doesn’t hold my entire makeup collection but I keep the stuff I use the most in it. I have a LOT of makeup though!

Re: Make-up vanity/station

i have one - it is a must for me lol.

i used to use our 3rd bedroom...but when my 2nd was born i was forced to figure out something else. Our bedroom is pretty small, so I found an idea on pinterest using an IKEA shelf...it worked out great. dont know what I would do without it!

I know, love it!
Unfortunately I don' teven have that much wall room for something like that.
The only long wall in my bedroom has closet, the other wall has windows, the other wall has my dresser.
I hate my house.
So fricking small

I was looking at another piece at IKEA also. But love both suggestions above. My furniture is very dark so I am not sure white will work.

Re: Make-up vanity/station

I have a vanity and makeup storage drawers in my walk in closet. It’s my favorite part of my house. I go in there shut my door and put my makeup on in peace.

This is beautiful!

If it were in my house, it would have eyeliner marks on the shelf and dry shampoo smeared across the mirror Chat Icon

Re: Make-up vanity/station

I do mine in my 1/2 bath, which is annoying b/c i have no place to store anything. so, I have thing sin drawers in my bedroom & have a tray on the windowsill for what I am using at the moment.

I could probably make room in my bedroom, for a vanity, but my husband is still sleeping when I get ready for work, so I wouldn't wan to open the curtains & blinds, or turn on a lot of lights.

I have thought about moving it into my office, since I never actually use my laptop in the office & that room has decent light in the morning, but I still don't have storage space b/c the desk is small & has office things in it. And I would get makeup every where.

If you decide you want to move it to the office, I have this shelf unit next to the desk that has my makeup mirror. Then I use the small fabric storage bins to put everything in

I have this one:

And I have this on top for my hair dryer, flat iron, and hair products:

We have a tiny master bath with a pedestal sink so there's no space to do my hair and makeup. I have a small room upstairs that was used as an office by the previous owners...too small to be a bedroom and no closet, so I use it as my "dressing room". I have my vanity, a tall floor mirror, and a shoe cabinet from Ikea for all my shoes.

Where did you get that setup that holds your blow dryer? So cute
