I want to SCREAM
I am sooooo frustrated this morning. Trying to resolve an issue between dearly departed FIL's union and his 401K company and all I keep getting is the runaround. No one wants to give me answers. I am trying to find out where $2000 went, if someone at the nursing home siphoned money off of his account or if it was deducted for a legitimate reason that was never disclosed to me.
I just want to freaking SCREAM at the top of my lungs. Part of me just wants to say fluck it, since the money technically belongs to Medicaid, but I don't want this to bite me in the AZZ later on.

I want to SCREAM
I'm sorry you are dealing with this. Just keep notes on who you spoke with and when, since it was my experience that no-one wants to do their job when it comes to dealing with a deceased person's family.

I want to SCREAM
Who are you speaking to, the union or the 401K company? I agree to keep diligent notes, who you spoke to, what they said, the time and date, and I include the weather and the newspaper headlines that day. It is my experience, dealing with the union and 401K to just keep calling everyone until it gets resolved. I had a coworker who was told he was going to become delinquent on his loan to his 401K. He had paystubs stating that the money came out. He spoke to EVERYONE and this went on for MONTHS! The union was able to track down the money and it finally got resolved.
Good luck!!!

Yes, I have all my notes. I am speaking with both. Each says I have to speak with the other. I've already spoken with my attorney and he advised what I should do about Medicaid estate recovery. That's a whole separate issue ......... Meanwhile, I decided to take a break from the aggravation and call the union on Monday, escalate this to a supervisor. This union SUCKS - everything is a major issue with them and no one knows what they are doing.
All I want to know is where the fluck $2000 went when I never authorized withdrawals other than $17.04 per month.
