Spin off to Allergy / White Post Farm post
And I'm only adding the quote here because I didn't want to hijack the other post.
The way they treat some of those animals is just disgusting.
I've never been there so I don't know much about this place. Since I don't have little ones.
But this makes me so angry.
Does anyone know if they've ever been investigated? If not. They should be!

Spin off to White Post Farms post
I don't know specifics of what others saw in the way of abuse, but I was floored when I saw the pen they had the baby giraffe in. I assume it's an ok size for a baby, but no way is it enough space for an adult. I have no idea what they think they're going to do once it grows up.

They should be investigated, aside from our peanut incident, I also included a situation about the baby goat pen in my letter to them. The have a very small pen with at least 15-20 goats all huddled in it. It smells awful, is in terrible shape and is filthy. In the midst of all this, is a goat who just gave birth mere hours before. Her three newborn kids were huddled in a corner, her placenta laying on the floor and afterbirth/blood hanging from her back end. I am all about nature and explaining the miracle of life to my kids but this was just gruesome and a lot for my 3 year old to take in. Not to mention the fact that this poor animal was forced to give birth in this filthy, overcrowded pen with kids yelling and throwing food all around her. It was deplorable and heartbreaking. I wouldn't even know who to report this to but it was a sin. I will never go back!

As previous posters have said, the pens they have some of these animals in are TINY. The animals can barely move around and I'm sure spend 24/7 in these pens. The animals are also grossly overfed. I'm not sure if the animals can self regulate how much they consume, but on a busy day I'm sure they have hundreds of people coming over with feed, milk bottles, etc and just pack it in nonstop for 10 hours. That can't be healthy. I honestly have no idea why they haven't been investigated for animal cruelty.

Re: Spin off to White Post Farm post
Who would investigate a place like this? ASPCA? Some humane society? I feel like they need to be reported

I refuse to go there also after attending 2 parties I couldn't decline. I find it heart breaking how they keep their animals.

wiat they have baby giraffe now?? when did they get one.
We have only been there for birthday parties and maybe one time without anyone.
I never really thought about all this probably cause I wasn't there for very long either time. I guess silly me thought they move them some where else when no open to the public.

Thank you!
As I said I've never been there so I would be reporting hearsay. But I would still like to report something!
Please let us know if you hear from them.

They're also cash only, so in addition to peta they should be reported to the IRS for not reporting probably 3/4 of their earnings.

Re: Spin off to Allergy / White Post Farm post
We don't go often and usually don't feed the animals, but someone gave us a couple of food cones last time. DH and I ended up feeding the goats because DD1 and DD2 were too afraid. I did feel bad for the goats, but I'm not sure how much of that is the condition vs not liking to see animals confined. I went to see the giraffe and felt bad for her. The staff member couldn't answer any of my questions. I was asking things like if she gets to walk around outside when it's nice out, if they might get another giraffe for company, etc. They had no clue. All they could tell me was she was over 1 year old. So, Idk if her area is temporary or not, but it seemed too small and dark to me. I hope they're building something better for her.

I've never been and refuse to go. We're planning a trip to Queens County Farm soon and I hope those animals are kept more humanely.

Re: Spin off to Allergy / White Post Farm post
I was at the White Post Farms petting zoo On June 9, 2018. Very dirty. You could see the Animals were not well kept. I live near the Farm. In the Summer time you can smell the Manure from the zoo to the Main Road (Old Country Road). This is a disease carry for young children. The Health Department should get involved.
