Family trip - AI Mexico or cruise

Which would you do?

We go away with another family a lot. Looking to book a trip over Spring break.
It's down to two...
RC leaving from Puerto Rico and goes to a few Islands. It's a 7 day cruise.
We also looked into this AI Dreams resort in Mexico Riviera Maya.
Now, last Dec we went with adults at an AI that was amazing and part of this family resort we are looking into as well.
Both costs are coming up around the same.

I am leaning towards cruise bc there's more to do and see. I did see A LOT of great reviews on the Mexico resort too.
The AI we went to in Dec was amazing and top notch. We'd do the same with swimout pool as well.
Ugh! Just trying to decide. I think 7 days in Mexico on the resort would be too much and would want a change. Obviously an adults one I'd be fine, but we have kids.
They have 2 girls who are 9 and 6 and I have 2 boys 9 and 7. They are best of friends and get along well too.
Thoughts!

I wouldn't worry about the kids getting bored, especially if the resort has a kids camp.

What is the name of the resort in Mexico? We’ve done the RC cruise from Puerto Rico, its an easy vacation with kids. But you always have limited time on the island, small pools on the ship and having to remember to walk with passports, ship ids etc..
Mexico has so much to offer in terms of activities. We usually rent a car and do things on our own time or take a few tours. I would do Mexico. We’re headed there Jan 19 and this will be the first time taking the kids with us. Kids club, snorkel with turtles, zip lines, denotes, day trip to isla Mujeres, various ruins. Why would you ever be bored? There is sooo much to do.
