Have you done anything to prepare for next year's tax filings?
With the tax reform and 10k limit, I think we are not going to make out so well (we meaning long islanders with astronomical taxes).
Have you made any changes?

Re: Have you done anything to prepare for next year's tax filings?
My property taxes are pretty low compared to most of LI and we worked it out with some calculators and I think we will end up doing ok so we haven't done anything . Not sure what I could change anyway

Re: Have you done anything to prepare for next year's tax filings?
I have sent me and DH paystubs to our accountant and he I guess ran numbers and told me what I am projected to get back.
Its a few thousand less than I normally do but I also have been getting more in my paycheck every week so it does make senses.
ETA: if he would have told me anything that I didn't like, like I would owe money I would adjust the withholding's in my pay stub

No. DH and I should be fine, we don't have astronomical property taxes because I only own a co-op.

Putting my head in the sand and hoping for the best. We usually get back a decent amount, so I'm hoping we won't owe.

Re: Have you done anything to prepare for next year's tax filings?
I talked to our accountant and he said we would take a hit with the property tax but would make up for it in other areas, so our return would pretty much stay around the same (so I hope!)

We prepaid some of this years taxes although it’s not clear if that will be accepted or not. When our accountant sent this years return to us he also ran our numbers for next year and said we’d likely get $1800 or so less of a return.

Re: Have you done anything to prepare for next year's tax filings?
Our accountant told us it looks like everything will even out with us because we have a small business. With cuts there, and DHs paycheck being higher each week, it should even out. We’ll know for sure soon enough
