Help me find an everyday bag!
I went to use my favorite LV bag today and realized my DS put goldfish and his water cup into my bag, and ruined it. I’m going to try and bring it to the dry cleaners but I think it’s a goner.
I went to switch my bags and realized I have nothing! The last 9 years I have been using diaper bags so I need a new good bag!
What color bag do you guys use in the summer and what’s your favorite current bag? It’s been so long, that I have no idea where to even look, help please!
Update: I called LV and explained what happened and I was able to send it through them to clean. Came back looking great, and in the meantime I got a bag from the Michael Kors outlet for a great price. Thanks to the few of you who gave me some nice bags to look into!

What kind of LV bag was it that some goldfish and a water ruined it? . I’ve had water completely saturate my canvas Neverfulls and I wanna say Totally as well and they’re still fine.

Help me find an everyday bag!
I was going to ask what was your LV made out of that water and goldfish ruined it??? I have no experience with LV, waaayyy out of my price point, but I am notorious for spilling full bottles of water in my real leather bags , and none of them have been ruined.

I guess so...though I don't consider my bags in the $200-$400 range cheap! But I know for this board it's what 4 year old spend in their bags, lol!

Help me find an everyday bag!
I had an entire straw cup of water saturate a coach bag and Kate spade wallet last week. They’re fine.
That being said, if you have kids and their stuff is runining your bags, I wouldn’t spend a fortune on a bag until you’re no longer toting their stuff around. I have a Cole Haan bag that has held up to tons of abuse. I also really like Fossil bags.

It wasn’t the water that ruined the bag, it was the fact the water got onto the goldfish and stained the entire inside orange.. it became goldfish goo. I don’t know how to clean it, otherwise I would!

Thank you for this!! I had one a long time ago and loved it but I forgot about it when I moved, just found it one of the boxes in my garage ((we moved 4 years ago so it’s pretty sad haha))

I want to love these bags but they just don't stay on my shoulder!! I have the large metro and I never use b/c the straps always fall off, even when I have heavy stuff in there!!

This. We bought my mom a LV for her birthday. Within 2 years the bag fell apart and my mom is not hard on her bags. The bag looks like trash. They repaired it once a few months after we bought it and it just continued to deteriorate. Piping coming out, cracked canvas, etc.
She also owns lower end bags that are older and look much better. I would never buy a LV again. They are overpriced and the quality sucks (at least its true of the newer bags being made).
That said OP Coach has a nice black tote with straps they sell out the outlets for under $200. I have to say that 99% of the coach bags I've owned held up well over time. MK makes a lot of nice totes however I feel that their hardware makes their bags really heavy to carry.

Same here. I really don't take care of mine at all and it still looks brand new 7 years later. I've had numerous sippy cups spill in mine, even with an open tin of altoids spilled in my bag (thanks kids!). They're very well made.
eta- I use my bag every single day. I don't understand how other people's bags are falling apart!

I would maybe try some soap and water but that's just me. Is the outside light or dark in color? I imagine it will be much better once it dries out.

I would try a little baking powder with warm water on a soft toothbrush. Give it a gentle scrub, let baking soda dry and then just brush it out. If it needs more then try a little dawn dish soap too. You can also put one of the boxes of Baking Soda (like for the fridge) in it standing up for a few days and it should help eliminate any remaining odor. The scrubbing might help lift the stain but if it doesn't it's on the inside so I wouldn't worry.

It was annoying at first, but doesn't happen anymore. I guess it molded to my shoulder.

I have the Rebecca Minkoff Bryn hobo bag. It’s got pebbles leather, is slouchy and holds so much stuff. It’s not structured at all which is what I like about it. I loved it so much I got the light grey and then the same one in black. Do a search on Nordstrom’s site though I don’t think it’s sold there anymore. I paid around $200 for mine. I think it’s available on other websites.

Yea I dont know if I would take it to the dry cleaner...i agree with trying to clean yourself.
