What would you gift?
My cousin, with whom I used to be close, but lately not so much, is getting married over labor day weekend in California. Which means her entire guest list has to fly there.
My entire family of 5 was invited to the wedding. However, with school starting and the expense of flying everyone to LA over LDW, we decided not to attend.
I was not asked to be in the bridal party even though she was in mine. I went to her shower and bachelorette. She was my bridesmaid, did not attend my bachelorette and gave me a book on marriage as a wedding gift.
How much of a gift do I send?
For her older sister's wedding, with whom I am very close, and it was just me and my husband attending at the time, I was in her bridal party, etc, I gave $350.
Am I supposed to give the same to her?

What would you gift?
Since you aren’t attending I would send either $50 or $100, whichever you can afford.

What would you gift?
Since you are not attending I don't think I would give $350. I would probably give $150.

What would you gift?
I would do a gift off the registry for around $100 or a check. $200 if you are feeling generous. I would not give $350.

Re: What would you gift?
Standard unable to attend wedding gift for me is $100. Unless I’m close to the person. I think $100 gift is more than generous

Re: What would you gift?
Considering she gave you a book as your wedding gift, I’d give her $50 or a gift from her registry.

Re: What would you gift?
Wedding gifts are not a 'tit for tat' situation, i hate that mentality
Go by how close you are with her now - that's it.
I'd send $100 or a similarly priced gift from the registry

Re: What would you gift?
No, I wouldn't give the same that you gave her sister, whose wedding you attended.
$50- 100 or a registry gift worth around that much.

But they don't sound close at all, she even states that in her OP. The cousin was her bridesmaid but she is not in her cousin's bridal party (suggests they may have been close at one point but not anymore). I think a $50 - $75 gift from the registry is fine in this situation. $100-$150 if you're feeling extra generous. You definitely don't have to give what you gave her sister.
