Family style restaurant in Nassau?
I have a bunch of extended family coming in for the holidays and they would like to go see the tree in the city the day after Christmas. We would like to all go to a family style restaurant in Nassau (somewhere near a main train hub like Hicksville) before we leave, like a late lunch. They want to do family style Italian. Can anyone recommend a restaurant that will accommodate 15-18 people? Don't need a private room or anything fancy.
ETA: the thought of the whole thing sends me straight into an anxiety attack. I despise large family gatherings.

I know you said Nassau...but what about going to Carmines in the city before you see the tree? Not sure if it would be too chaotic lol

It would be an utter disaster at Carmine's the day after Christmas. I am not sure they would even have a reservation at this point
La Famiglia in Plainview is great and not far from Hicksville train

We actually had a reservation at Carmines, then after we left a deposit they called and changed the prices. They want $75/head and a $500 nonrefundable deposit. It would be $1200+ for dinner. We are not looking to spend that much.

Their food is nowhere near worth that.

That's what I told my in-law's! They were going to actually leave the deposit and I told them they were insane to spend that much. It's insane.

Right? It's big portions of chicken parm. Whoopie. It's not some culinary masterpiece type place. But the tourists love it.

Was going to suggest this. The train station is like a 2 block walk from there.
