Pilot versus Traverese
Thank you to all that responded to me previous post regarding SUVs with 3rd rows.
So I have narrowed it down to the Honda Pilot and the Chevy Traverse.
Still have to do a test drive, but which would you pick?

Re: Pilot versus Traverese
I havent driven a pilot but that would hands down be my vote. I have a 2016 traverse and hate it! The space is great, the options (remote start app) are wonderful, but the rest of the car stinks. My air condition blew (completely broke) after the first summer in the car. When i hit about 30k (maybe closer to 35k) the ride started to suck; you really feel it when the car shifts gears (its not a smooth transition, you feel a jerk in the car). I had it in for service and they say that is normal and nothing can be done. There are no transmission error codes so they say that means that the transmission is working properly. I also have a 2002 chevy suburban that handles better than the '16 traverse, and the mechanic even said, yeah they dont make them like they used to. I would def stay away from it unless the transmission used has changed since the 2016 model
Or who knows...maybe I just got a lemon

My friend has a Traverse that is in the shop right now and is cursing it to death! It is very roomy.

Pilot. My family and I have had hondas for the past 30 years with no issues compared to other brands. I have An old pilot and it is still wonderful.

My dad has had 2 Traverses. Based on his experiences, I wouldn’t recommend the car.

I love my pilot! I have the older body style (2015) but I love it! I ended up buying out my lease because I love the car!

Ahhhhhh, I can’t believe I’m reading all this negative about the Traverse. I want to return my Acadia lease for a Traverse in March. Now I’m scared. Only reason I’m switching from an Acadia is because I hate the new body style. The Traverse is so pretty!

Visually, inside and out, the traverse is great. Many options and so well priced. But mechanically...i would stay away! Car was great the first 25k miles or so then it was downhill. If you do decide to get one I would certainly get the extended warrenty

Thank you all! I'm 95% sure I'm going with the pilot. I also checked out the highlander yesterday, but it was more money and less perks than the pilot and they are practically the same thing.

I turned in my 2015 Acadia Denali when my lease was up and got a 2018 traverse. I hated the new body style of the Acadia and I also hated the old body style of the traverse. I love the new traverse. Plus it’s leased so by 3 years I give it back if there’s any issue.
