What to wear to your own party?
What do you wear when you are hosting a holiday party? I am looking for something that is at least a little festive, not very dressy, but not very casual (LOL), comfortable and not too hot (and not jeans) to wear for a party I am having next weekend

How about a pair of black skinny pants and a sparkly or sequined tank- so you aren't too hot.

Especially since I'm getting random hot flashes. I live in sleeveless shirts and have a sweater on hand

I bought a black sweater dress and it had a red stripe on lulus.com for my holiday party. I looked it was sold out but it was festive but subtle so something similar.

Me too! Where is it from?
A sweater dress and tights is my "go to uniform" for the winter, but I think it'll be too warm for my party, where I'll probably be running around a lot.

I know I am late with the reply but for the sleeveless top fans, I highly recommend this sequin top. I bought in the green and black. Wore the green to a holiday party that I hosted. Very comfy and versatile.

Thanks for all the great ideas. I wound up wearing this, which I already had in my closet - mostly because I ran out of time to buy something new
