Torn on decision... RE: FET
Hi ladies,
I have 3 frosties left from my IVF cycle. They were all frozen at day 3. We are planning to do another transfer in Feb/March but my RE is really pushing us to grow out the 3 embies to day 5 to weed out the best ones. My fear is that none of them will make it. I read conflicting things about this and how embies do best in their natural environment, etc. My husband feels that we should grow them out as well. I’m just so torn & confused. Any insight, experience, suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks ladies!

Torn on decision... RE: FET
No experience, just sending you positive vibes. I see you posted at 6 AM so it must be on your mind. Whatever thought first comes to your mind when asked what you want to do is the answer in your gut.

Torn on decision... RE: FET
That's a hard decision. For me if I wasn't worried about genetic testing I would transfer all 3 day 3s. I have done that in the past. One stuck of the 3 but the pregnancy ended due to a genetic issue. Since now I need genetic testing I did grow out my 4 day 3s to blast and 1 made it to blast.I think differently than I use to about all this. I feel like if they can make it to blast there is a higher chance it will work out.

That’s what my doctor thinks as well. He isn’t worried about genetic issues but he just said why keep paying for transfers if we can grow them out and transfer the one or 2 that we know will have a higher chance. I just hope that they make it to blast.

I know. It is so stressful. Hopefully they will make it to blast. Wishing you luck. Keep us updated.

I see your doctor’s point and your feelings too. I never had this experience I wanted to send hugs!

Torn on decision... RE: FET
After a miscarriage with day 3 embryos my doctor suggested the same thing. I grew out my day 3 embryos to day 5. Well actually 2 made it to day 5 and 2 to day 6. I transferred the day 5’s and it resulted in a mc but the mc was due to a blood infection. I then transferred one day 6 and that resulted in my daughter. I have one frozen embryo left. So in my experience growing them out was worth it.

Re: Torn on decision... RE: FET
I'd probably grow them out. Realistically, a healthy embie will grow out. An unhealthy one won't result in a healthy pregnancy, so why put yourself through it?
Either decision you make, you have to live with the "what ifs" so do what makes you most comfortable. You're the only one who can decide.
