I know it's frustrating, but you're going to be living with the stove and using it, it will get worn. I wouldn't bother with replacing the entire store over a few scratches that honestly, nobody will notice but you. Once you put the grill over it, you won't see it.

I agree with this. Annoying but big picture it is going to happen with use anyway.

I get it. And it makes sense. But I’d like to mess up my own brand new stove, ya know? Like your first scratch on a new car. Do it yourself, you’re pissed. But come back to your car and see someone scratched it - the worst thing ever.
