Disney - What Value Resort do you recommend?
I am starting to plan our summer trip to Disney World. After going back and forth between World and Land, I have decided on World. The value resorts are very reasonably priced so we are going to try to grin and bear the heat. Wish us luck! We went to Dutch Wonderland when the heat index was 110 and they have no shade or AC anywhere so I think we can do it.
Anyway, what is your favorite value resort? What are the pros and cons?
Thanks!

Re: Disney - What Value Resort do you recommend?
We go in August b/c that's what works with my and MIL's work schedules. It is hot but a lot is AC'ed and you can take breaks in restaurants, shops, or back at the hotel. There was not much shade at Toy Story Land, which of course was DD's favorite spot and we spent A LOT of time there over the 8 days lol.
The only value resort I've stayed out was Art of Animation in a Finding Nemo family suite so it wasn't really like a true "value" room. The location of the Nemo buildings is great because you have the Big Blue Pool and foodcourt right outside of your building.
My BIL and his g/f stayed next door at Pop Century and their room was nice. Small...but nice. It was recently refurbished with wood laminate flooring which I liked b/c hotel carpets skeeve me . We didn't really venture around the property...just walked from AoA to Pop to meet up with them before dinners and such.
I'm sure you'll get a lot of great recommendations on here

I have stayed at them all. All Star Movies and Pop Century have renovated rooms with queen beds and laminate flooring. The caveat with the beds are that one is a table that turns into a bed, so you have to fold up the bed if you want to use the table. They look nice for the price though. We just stayed at All Star Sports (not renovated with queen beds) for a long weekend before xmas, because it was dirt cheap and I didn't want to fold up the bed for my son to eat breakfast every morning (he is particular). Art of Animation standard value rooms are FAR from the food court. We did that once, never again. Wasn't a fan.

Re: Disney - What Value Resort do you recommend?
We stay at a value because we are barely in the room so I can't justify the extra expense... we stayed at Pop last year and will again next year. It has its own bus stop (1 stop), the rooms are refurbished as well, with queen beds. You can pay for a preferred room to be closer to the main area (which is what we did- it wasn't that much considering what you spend on a Disney trip).
AoA is supposed to be nice as well however, I have heard if you stay in the little mermaid rooms (which is the value price at that resort) it is a far walk to the main areas and they have double, not queen beds.

i'm going to AoA in about 2.5 weeks, but staying in the finding nemo suites so it's not exactly a value room. I will keep you posted though

Re: Disney - What Value Resort do you recommend?
I haven’t stayed in one (bc my parents have dvc) but I did contemplate staying in ine this upcoming trip (before my parents realized they had some extra points). Anyways, I majorly picked the brains of people over on the dis boards, and the feedback I got was that art of Animation studio rooms are a LONG outdoor walk to transportation/food, like upwards of 10-15 minutes for a family with little kids. That’s a long walk in summer heat. Pop Century was by far the consensus on those chat boards of the best place convenience-wise and niceness putting both into account. Hope this secondhand feedback is helpful.

Re: Disney - What Value Resort do you recommend?
I’d pick pop. We’ve stayed there twice and really like it. I also like that it’s a short walk to AoA so you can use their food court for variety. We’ve also stayed at AoA but unless you are huge little mermaid fans I don’t think I’d pick that one. The suites are awesome though.
