If your child has ADHD
who manages their treatment?
(neuro, developmental ped, regular ped, etc..)
Just looking for options. thanks!

My DS has ADHD. He's 9 and was diagnosed when he was 5. We have a Pediatric Neurologist that manages his medications.
He also sees a behavioral therapist, school psychologist, occupational therapist, and participates in a therapy group after school (it's other children in his age group that also suffer from various issues in which they struggle to properly socialize). Generally what happens is that if we begin seeing behaviors at school or home in which we think the medication is not properly working, we let the neurologist know and he adjusts accordingly.

Thank you - we see a neurologist currently (as well as a therapist). I'm trying to find someone new to manage the meds. Just not happy with our current doctor - mainly the office staff.

We see a developmental ped. I do like her but it takes a while to get an appointment and she has to basically squeeze us in where she can. Otherwise she is responsive to my phone calls when I need her.

My SO's son has ADHD (among several other things)
His psychiatrist monitors all his medications. However, before that it was a neurologist (who we all hated).

If your child has ADHD
My son used to have the neuro manage the meds. Wasn't happy with the hoops to jump through, so at around age 9ish, the regular pediatrician took over, and prescribes it every month. Along with routine bloodwork. The medicine has never changed though. He is actually much older (20 now, aging out of peds), and his routine bloodwork discovered an elevated liver count all of the sudden. So we are now tackling that.
