hydration opinions
when you're thinking about your hydration, do you count black tea and/or coffee towards your "water intake"
i know that some people count it differently. i was just wondering what your opinions are and if you count it towards hydration or not.

Re: hydration opinions
No because they are diuretic and can dehydrate you.

Re: hydration opinions
Coffee and tea are actually dehydrating, so I definitely would not count them as hydration.

Re: hydration opinions
I was counting unsweetened iced tea as my water intake until the dr told me no way. I really have a hard time drinking water so she told me to start by cutting the iced tea with water and gradually adding more.

Try hint water. Its amazing. Slight essence of flavor but no sugar, sweeteners or artificial anything.
Or do decaf iced tea so it won't be dehydrating. Then it should count as just water

hydration opinions
From what I've read, while tea and coffee do have a mild diuretic effect due the caffeine, there is still a net gain of hydration when you drink them. So while it may not count the same as straight water, over all it is adding to your hydration and is not dehydrating as once thought.

Re: hydration opinions
Thank you I’ll definitely try the hint water. I actually never thought about the decaf iced tea but that’s a great idea.
