Strep again!
So my 9 year old had strep the beginning of the month (on the 2nd) and came home yesterday with a low fever, sore throat and headache so I knew it was strep again. I am glad he's on meds so already feeling better. I can't believe how many kids are getting sick this season. I know it's every season, but so many strep cases. Anyway... back to washing the house down. LOL No house is cleaner than when a child is sick!
I did give him his meds all 10 days last time too. Now he got another medicine that he doesn't like that taste of as much as amoxicillin, but at least this one is one a day.

Strep again!
I’m dealing with strep right now myself. I’m on day three of meds and while I don’t feel like I’m swallowing glass anymore my glands are still swollen and I’m still run down. A teacher in my building was dealing with strep for over a MONTH. So whatever strain is going around it’s a tough one to get rid of. Just hoping DS doesn’t get it too.

Re: Strep again!
My son had it 3 times between thanksgiving and mid January. It was rampant in his classroom. I find that it has to be parents sending in sick kids before they are well. Spreading it all over again!

Strep again!
Strep is going around our school too. I do find though that Amoxicillin doesn’t kill it for my younger DS (older DS is allergic) and we have to switch to Cefdinir (now we start with Cefdinir).

Funny. He's on it now.

Re: Strep again!
My youngest son had strep at the end of January, no fever or anything complained once about his throat hurting him and was not eating much. I was stunned that it was strep. He was acting totally normal and jumping on the couch like crazy. Last week my daughter broke out in a rash on her face and I took her to the dr who said it was nothing. She went back to school and was fine. This wednesday my oldest son had his well visit, my daughter complained once that her throat hurt, ate fine even had McDonalds right before going for the strep test which came back positive right away. My dr does not put them on amox instead puts them on cefadroxil. I just think its crazy with no symptoms that it comes out so fast. I had it in my 20s and was hospitalized for it. It was bad.

Re: Strep again!
Same with my son. Had strep, sore throat, no fever. Took 10 days of meds. Few days later strep again.
