Intralipid infusion girls...certified infusion nurses
I see Dr. Kofinas and because I have elevated NK cells I require intralipid infusions once before ovulation and then whenever I get pregnant (fingers crossed) I’d have to continue it every other week up to about 20 weeks. The infusions cost $227 between the meds and nursing care. I myself am a nurse and a few years ago when I was going through this Kofinas’ nurse gave me the option of just paying for the lipids and then infusing myself. I took this route because it only cost me $30!! I had my friend from work start my IV and it was a done deal. Now kofinas is saying that he can’t allow that, apparently you have to have an infusion nurse certification. It’s so frustrating because I’m literally paying someone to start my IV and sit in my house for 2 hours. As per kofinas, the only way around this would be for me to find a nurse that has that infusion certification. Is anyone here a certified infusion nurse that would be willing to start my IV’s for me? Like I said, I’m a nurse myself, I work on an oncology unit. I know how to manage IV’s, monitor infusions of all sorts and discontinue an IV. I really can’t stand having to pay someone $200 to do these things. Infertility is expensive enough.

That is frustrating. My RE orders my intralipids to a pharmacy and I get them shipped to my house. I do the first one at my REs office and I then can chose how to infuse them. Will he only call in the script to an infusion center? I did look into Coram health but they were about $200.

Ugh, I wish my doctor would allow this. Yes, I go through Coram infusion. Who do you go through? Do you end up just infusing yourself?
