Disney Cruise -- Nov 2019

So I was looking at cruises the week of Nov 3rd. Kids only have a 3 day week that week bc of NJ Teacher's Convention.
My boys will be in 5th and 3rd grades so they will miss 3 days.
Anyway, we've been on Magic before out of NYC, but considering going again. About $6000 - $7000 for the 4 of us. Maybe a drop more if we do balcony over the porthole. Worth it? Seems like a lot and as I said we went a few years ago same time, but this is only going to 2 places... their island and Florida. 7 nights.

ETA - we went on a similar cruise but was a lot less bc it was a repositioning cruise so we left NYC and ended in Puerto Rico. We never went to their island.

Disney Cruise -- Nov 2019

i LOVE disney cruises... we've been on 3, with a 4th one booked for this summer. BUT i do think thats a lot of money for a lot of sea days. one of the reason we love cruises is a chance to see a bunch of different places without having to change hotels and all that. I would maybe look at one of their cruises that leaves from florida or somewhere else and you can probably get a cruise with more ports for about the same money. in November 2017 (that same week you're looking at, we're also in NJ....) We went on a cruise that stopped in 4 or 5 places and we paid like $4500 for 4 of us, for a balcony room. AND just to compare- we're doing a Disney alaska cruise this summer for just under $10,000 for 4 of us. again, thats a balcony room- an inside or ocean view would've been close to what you're looking at for a cruise with only 2 stops....
SOOO basically like i said- i LOVE the disney cruises, but that does seem like a lot of money for only 2 stops. but it is a good week to go... so maybe see what other ones they have that week!

I agree with the PP, it's a lot! And I LOVE Disney cruising, we have been on 6. For comparison sake, we booked a last minute cruise last Summer (3 weeks out), and paid $5,000 for 2 adults and 1 child in a "guaranteed room", which turned about to be a 4a stateroom (pretty much the best room). This was for 7 nights, 3 islands in the Carribbean on the Fantasy (nicer than the Magic) I wouldn't pay that for 1 island a stop in FL. The FL port is lame IMO.

That is a lot.

Look into Royal Caribbean. They just redid their private island in the Bahamas and it looks amazing.

We just got back from a cruise on Anthem of the Seas. I would definitely recommend that. We are big cruisers. Have tried Disney and didn't feel the value was there as compared to other ships. There is a trip that leaves Nov 2 from Jersey.

Something else to consider since you will likely have colder weather the Anthem was built for that with lots of indoor activity spaces and indoor pool for the kids.

I believe they recently had a kid sale free promotion but will likely have a similar promotion before you sail and you can price adjust.

I personally wouldn't do a cruise out of NY in November because it's cold and will take some time to get to warmer weather. You will certainly lose the first 1-2 days and the last days to the weather.

I understand, but it wasn't too bad the last time we went. Of course you never know how weather will be it is nice not to have to worry about flights. Also, Disney cruise water is heated.

I do agree it's a lot of money for 7 nights and only 2 stops. I do love Disney cruises though. If it was only less or there was a way to get better prices.
Just love that week since they are not missing too much school. Also, it's even more during winter or Spring break plus that doesn't include flights and/or possibly hotel.

I think during that time of year, other cruise ships heat their pools and have indoor pools, wave pools (Anthem) as well.

I have cruised out of NYC and enjoy that. I love just driving to port and not having to fly and I consider that into the price and time of the vacation. Still, your quote of over $1k a day is high.

I was not a fan of Disney cruising (and was on the Magic for my cruise). The private island was ok (but it did look like it had more stuff for kids that were older than ours were at the time). I thought the private Carnival and NCL islands were nicer (in terms of beach and set up).

We are big Disney fans... and usually split up the trip between the parks and the Florida beaches. It’s just different than a cruise and it’s a personal decision of what is worth it (money and flying)!
