#1. It sounds more fun to me. I like dressing up (since I don't go out too much lately), and more if kids are included and it's your weekend with them. Also a big affair means better food, better music, and more drinks. Sunday would be to sleep in and relax after a busy Saturday

-You have the perfect reason not to go to#1...YOUR own party!
-Party #1 is going to be so big, they probably won't notice that you weren't there (no offense)
-You have a closer relationship with the people for #2.

The second one. Hosting a party during the day and then having to get everyone cleaned up, dressed up and sit in traffic? That’s a hard “no”

If I were hosting a party earlier in the day, I probably wouldn't go to either. However, if I were to pick one, I would definitely opt for 2. It sounds like you are closer with the people, and it is definitely the more convenient of the two options.

I agree. The second one sounds more relaxing after hosting a kids party during the day.
