curly girl method
does anyone here follow the curly girl method with their hair?
i did it years ago, but when i got together with SO he asked me to see what my hair looked like straight. that got me to continue to straighten it for a few years.
i'm back to the curly girl method as of two weeks ago. thank god for facebook groups this time around. takes a lot of the reading labels work out of the equation because everyone shares pictures lol.

Re: curly girl method
I do! I’ve been doing it for a year pretty much exclusively, although I don’t necessarily use cg-friendly hair color and I color about 3-4 times a year. This method has been a true game-changer for me! I wish I could figure out a way to post before and after pics from my iPad because it’s unreal! I’ll never go back!

Re: curly girl method
I use some of the methods for primping the curl but I'm not exclusively CG with products and I wash my hair most days. I love the feel of freshly washed hair, with lather. I'm sure I'd have a better result if I were strict but I'm not ready. I'm in one facebook group.

Re: curly girl method
today, i tried the laura smith method. not sure i'll stick with this method. i'll probably try different products with this method before i completely give up on it, but i'm not sure how i feel about leaving so much product in my hair.
but her recent pictures are exactly what i want with my hair... think Brave from Disney! holy cow, the volume... it's like diana ross on crack!

Re: curly girl method
I've always been a curly girl - meaning I don't straighten my hair, embrace the curls, etc. I think I've only straightened it twice in my life and that was for Halloween. I do some of the things, but I don't follow it. I keep with what I learned from Ouidad and Christo and others through the years. I do prefer dry cuts, only shampoo my hair 1 or 2 a week, I MUST defuse, never air dry. Things like that.
There are tons of YouTube people that make videos....it's insanity and I believe overwhelming. I think it's great for tips here and there, but my hair is my hair. It's not going to look like some of these girls. With curls you have to love and work with what you have...and ultimately embrace the chaos.
