The Case against Adnan Syed
Anyone watch on HBO, it premiered last night It was good but I have to admit I don’t remember this story, I was only 19 when it happened Now I’m super intrigued It’s only 1 episode a week which annoys me! I like to binge lol

The Case against Adnan Syed
I know it from the Serial podcast a few years back and followed the story b/c of that. I recall that they were trying to get him a new trial now with all the renewed interest.

Re: The Case against Adnan Syed
I remember this case being huge on a podcast a few years ago but I never listened to it. And haven't seen the HBO Show.
Can someone tell me about this from the article:
During the trial, a friend of Mr. Syed said that he had heard him confess to the murder and accompanied him to the park to bury Ms. Lee’s body.
Where is this friend now? And how was this explained by his lawyer?

I truly believe 100% wholeheartedly that Adnan is 100% innocent and went to jail for life for NO REASON! It's so upsetting. I can't imagine.
My theory is that it was DON... but you never know!

I remember listening to that podcast, and even though it's been a while and I can't remember all the details, I do remember coming away from it not totally convinced he was an innocent man.
I'd like to watch the show though.

I don't know about now... but back in high school he was a heavy drug user and I'm pretty sure a drug dealer... the police clearly coached him through his confessions. People believe that the cops wanted to pin it on Adnan and in doing so threatened that friend to say what they needed in return with threats/for immunity or whatever...
Here is a 2014 interview with Jay: https://theintercept.com/2014/12/29/exclusive-interview-jay-wilds-star-witness-adnan-syed-serial-case-pt-1/

Re: The Case against Adnan Syed
Reading that interview with Jay... I'm now suspicious again. It's very different information then they presented otherwise. Like people were saying he was in classes, at practice on time, seen at the library and I thought, how did he have time to meet and hurt Hae? The facts are just too old at this point. Not enough proof one way or the other. This is sad. I just don't see why Jay would still be saying this if it wasn't true. So confused!

Re: The Case against Adnan Syed
I really think Don had something to do with this... but I just don't know. it's weird don became "disabled" the same year hae died. I feel like it was related. and he said "i loved her" but he only dated her for two weeks? and said he doesn't care if people think hes guilty or not he just wants his family to be cared for? it's almost like he is admitting guilt in a way. the fact that he was trying to say hae might have run off to california and he didnt seem concerned and then hit on hae's friend. all very strange...

I doubt Don had anything to do with it for one reason. Jay lead the police to Hae's car. Jay and Don had no connection-they didn't even know each other. So if Don did it, how would Jay know where the car was?
Also, I have a real problem with the Asia abili. The way the letter is written, does not sound like it was written by her based on the way she talks. And Adnan said he was at track practice. He's at track practice, Asia claims he's in the library- something doesn't add up.
I don't think Adnan is innocent. I think he had something to do with her murder. What would be anyone else's motive? I think Jay helped Adnan in some way, more than just an after the fact accomplice. And that's why Adnan called Jay "pathetic" during the trial. Adnan's phone is in Leakin Park the day of her murder. His ex-girlfriend is missing, which goes totally against her character. And Adnan can't remember what he did that day. When something big happens, people tend to remember that day more vividly. I just don't buy that Adnan doesn't remember.

Re: The Case against Adnan Syed
When I had first listened to the Serial podcast, I was convinced that Adnan was innocent. Now, years later and watching this (I only saw the first episode), and reading more about it online - I think he is 100% guilty and where he belongs. I think he was possessive, and all about how he "looked", how he came across. I don't think he'll ever admit it. As for Jay. I was always so confused about him. Why didn't he get ANY jail time? I mean, he obvs made a deal for giving up Adnan, but come on - not even a day in jail? Crazy.

People think the car was found later, and the cops told Jay where it was. It is still not part of the story how it got where it did and by who, in all of Jays accounts him and Adnan were together in one car and Haes car is never mentioned...

I dont know anymore either. Jay's story doesnt hold up well for me though. It just seems fishy -- and the fact that he has so many people saying he was a sketchy person, and his story changed so many times... it just doesnt add up. I dont trust any of them.
