Being a few minutes late at hair salon
I'm never late, but I get how things happen. I would never go back to that salon. I cant tell you how many times I've gone and had to wait (which is why I now make my hair cuts for 1st appt on a Saturday). I never gave attitude when I had to wait. And especially since you said you're a long time customer, it's totally nutty that they gave you attitude. And all of them?? They must've been talking about you the whole 8 minutes you were late. Sorry they made you feel uncomfortable. It must have been really awkward.

Being a few minutes late at hair salon
Sounds like the salon is the issue. In 8 min the front desk and stylist were in cahoots to be snotty to you? I just think the salon has a major attitude problem. Find another place.

May I ask what they said to give you an attitude? There is no excuse not to be professional, but I’m curious what they actually said.
As soon as I walked up to front desk. I apologized profusely and nobody answered me and handed me a robe. I asked if I should go to girl I was booked with and they said yes. I walked up to her. I know she saw me and would not lift her head from phone. I apologized and explained my situation and she barely responded. She told me what chair to sit at. Throughout my time with her, she was cold and I felt very uncomfortable. It was obvious. I have never been late. I even offered to leave with wet hair. I just said to myself, I am never coming back. I apologized again when I was leaving. I am very big on one should never be late and Im never late.
Honestly with that attitude I would've walked out. She didnt even look up from her phone to address you. Give me an attitude like that for 8 mins. Gtfo.
I had an appt last week. I called the day before and said I have an appt with Ana at 10 Id like to change to 1 if she's available. They guy said no problem I will change that for you. I get there the next day at 12:50. Tell the receptionist I have an appt with Ana at 1. He says ok, please be seated. 1:15 a different stylist comes over and says ok you can go get washed. I dont see Ana anywhere. So I said to him, my appt is with Ana. Is she not here? He said oh no she no longer works here!
Seriously...WTF!! I walked out.
Like someone else said salons are a dime a dozen. Especially in the city. Dont be a d i c k and dont be shady.

It sounds like the individual hairstylist is the issue. If you are loyal to the same stylist that is wildly unprofessional of a response to you, even if they were new to you are trying to acquire new customers. Maybe try a different hairstylist at the same salon? If you are a long term customer that should piss her off lol
Definitely! I have been in and out of this salon for many years. Will never go back ever now. When someone leaves, I go elsewhere. When I get stuck, give it another try. I knew it was the stylist that asked them to call me at 5 minutes late. Just felt uncomfortable the whole time. The line of work Im in, when someone is late and I wait, I get no pay at all while waiting. I still smile and treat them with kindness. She and salon missed out on my monthly hair colorings. I have had friends question why I am going there due to their experiences but I understand why now and I get the negative online reviews. Gave it a try as I was looking for someone new, but after this, I won’t ever return

Yes! Online reviews are similar. Was shocked over such a small amount of time I was late. I even waited for this girl 20 minutes when she ran late a few months back and told her no problem. Will keep searching. If anyone has any good recommendations, please let me know

Attitude from front desk and stylist? Wow! I agree that you should find another salon. As another poster mentioned, I would contact the owner.
