WW Question

Is it common practice to be penalized for being under goal weight? I reached goal weight in week 5. I have since lost an additional 4lbs. Was told at weigh in this week that if i don't gain and reach goal weight or within 2lbs above, they will extend my maintenance weeks.

Re: WW Question

Yes I am pretty sure they are strict about staying 2 lbs within goal to get lifetime and not have to pay. See if you can adjust your goal weight to the the lower weight then if you think you are going to stay around your current weight.

Re: WW Question

Maintenance is not about losing more weight, it is about adjusting your points so your weight remains the same, within the 2 pound limit.
You have 6 weeks of maintenance to establish your ideal points.

If you want to lose more weight, then you have not reached goal yet.

Re: WW Question

Thank you for your responses.

When joining, I was told that lifetime status is earned once goal weight is met and maintained with a 2lb above allowance for 6wks. Under goal weight parameters was never discussed.

If I change my goal weight, can they back date to when I reached that weight or will I be starting fresh with 6 weeks maintenance? I called WW to inquire but the woman was ill informed and told me to speak to leader at meeting.

ETA: I contacted a WW member using the app chat. VERY helpful and informative. She said in order to achieve lifetime, must be achieve goal weight and be within 2lbs of goal weight at END of 6wk maintenance period.

As mentioned, I am in week 3 of maintenance and 4lbs below goal. I seriously doubt I will gain 2lbs in 3wks. I plan to change goal weight at next weigh in and restart 6wks maintenance.

Re: WW Question

Just an fYI for those on WW using only the app

I use the iTrackBites app because freestyle didn’t work for me and this app gives you a lot of the old WW options to follow. I had the free version and then just decided to get the PRO version so I can track calories and macros along with my points to really see what I am eating. It was $36.99 for the year - huge difference from the WW app and you get the same stuff. Online community, recipe builder, restaurants, etc etc.

Just wanted to pass along the info

YES! I am in a WW FB group and see lots of people talking about this app. I might switch to this once my plan expires. I believe the PRO version where you have to pay is like Freestyle but the other versions of WW are free.
