lets wake up these boards --- introductions :)

i'll start by introducing myself.

42 years old with an 11 year old - unexplained secondary infertility with a dozen miscarriages and chemical pregnancies in the last 6 years. Decided last year that I should try and see if I could get some help instead of just praying and hoping.

4 iui cycles with either chlomid or femera, three that got to the actual procedure, all negative. My first cycle was cancelled for missed ovulation.

i am starting injections for IVF on friday (gonal, menopur, cetrocide) - nervous --- this will be my first round of this....and probably only. I'm getting older and my insurance isn't covering much at all.

Hoping the boards wake up a bit, would love to talk to ladies in the same boat as me, as i have kept this journey to myself mostly amongst friends and family. Already very grateful for some ladies that have donated me some meds for this cycle.

Welcome. I tired to wake up the boards over the years with no luck. When I was cycling for my son who is 4 these boards were so helpful. I learned so much from the ladies on here. Wishing you lots of luck with your I've cycle.

Welcome!

I have a 2 year old DD conceived via IVF. This board was so helpful when I was going through IF. I honestly don't know how I would have gone through IVF without it.

Re: lets wake up these boards --- introductions :)

Thanks for answering ladies -- here's a little update on me that has me BUGGING out.

first cycle of IVF - day 4 of meds 150 menopur and 250 gonal f. went in for my blood work and sono and i have a 17-19mm follicle on my left side, and some smaller ones on my right hand side that arent measurable yet.

that one is way too big too soon, i have to leave there and do the cetrotide shot so that it would stop it from releasing...

Dr said that a couple of things can happen - i go back on thursday and get sono and blood work - if the smaller ones are growing, the large one gets sacrificed and we continue with this cycle. If they arent and the large one is still dominant and growing we will convert this to an iui prob friday.....

does anyone know in a normal cycle how many follicles should be around at day 4 of meds.

I never have much going on after 4 days of meds. By next check I usually have more. If the small ones grow a bit I makes sense to forget about the one bog one. That one could have taken a lot of the meds and messed up the cycle. I've seen that happen before. Good luck.

Re: lets wake up these boards --- introductions :)

Unfortunately - my IVF cycle was switched to an iUi this morning- that lead follicle is up to 24 and the other ones didnt get much bigger - I was only on day 6 of stims - but the dr didnt want to lose the dominant follicle. triggered in the office and go in in the morning.

Has anyone ever had a successful iUi after a cancelled IVF cycle?
