Brick repair?
Looking for someone to come repair old school front steps made of bricks. The bricks are coming loose and some have fallen off. I really just want the bricks that are loose replaced and everything made level. Was quoted 4800 for repair and $10k for a new stoop which I think is insane. If anyone can recommend someone for just a repair job in eastern Suffolk please let me know....

Brick repair?
My friend used Precision Landscape Design (Suffolk) for a paved walkway and is very satisfied. I assume if he is in that business, he can do a stoop repair. Good Luck

Brick repair?
I assume masonry people are very busy right now with large projects and probably don’t want to take on a small repair job. I would look into a really good handyman.

Yes, the good ones are booked.
The other thing is that it's not usually as simple as just putting a brick or 2 back. We had a problem with brick steps at our old house. The previous owners had the few bricks put back and they fell off again once we owned the house. We spent the money and had it properly fixed. If you skimp, you will wind up fixing it over and over.

I realize that, but we are planning to put the house on the market next year and don’t want to spend thousands on it. If we were staying here I would certainly spend much more. I just don’t think there are too many around that do this type of repair as it’s all about the pavers now. I will look for a handy man if I can, maybe wait until fall...

Re: Brick repair?
I think your best bet is to wait until the fall since spring and summer is when a majority of people have work done on their house. I would look for a handyman if you simply just want the bricks cemented back in. My uncle did this for us (though you could tell the difference with the cement we used), we had a few loose bricks, It was temporary until we were able to re-do our front steps completely.

We have pavers and 2 fell off the end. I bought an outdoor epoxy glue from Home Depot for $7 and they’ve stayed strong for over a year now. You could try something like that to get you through the sale. As long as you have the bricks and it’s kind of a straightforward broken section.
