We’re going for the first time to Hershey over the school break in September. Should we stay for one night or two?

Re: Hershey Park

If you aren't doing the water park since it will be Sept, you can probably get away with one night.

What we like to do is leave at the ass crack of dawn to beat traffic in NY.
So we get there around breakfast time, eat breakfast and go right to the park for opening.

You can spend all day, then go back the next day for a 1/2 day to hit anything you didn't do and go home from there.

We go 2 nights- but we go in the summer so we like to use the extra day for the water park.

Hershey is only open Sat-Sun in September so one night is fine (they aren’t open over the Jewish Holiday).

Yeah I saw that last night when I was looking at their website. So we would get there Sat and then either leave Sun afternoon or Mon morning.

Is it worth it to do just the park one day and the zoo the next day? Should I get 2 day park tichets?

No, the zoo is pretty small.

You get a free preview when you buy a one day ticket - you can get in a few hours before close the night before you plan on going and usually the crowds are pretty thin.

If you stay at a Hershey resort you get in an hour earlier than those who don’t with your preview and you can enter the park an hour earlier on your full day.

Are both the water park and the regular park full day events? I'm assuming you could spend an entire day at the amusement park but what about the water park?

The water park is a few hour thing IMO. I don't actually like the waterpark. Often a line to get into the wave pool, lazy river, etc. Then you are walking around the park with wet hair, etc. We rarely do the waterpark

You can but when we went in July it was a super hot day and the water park got SOOOO crowded by noon time you could barely walk and the lines were insane.
So I would suggest that if it's a busy day or super hot, to go to the water park at opening and leave around lunch time. It just got way too insanely crowded.

We do the water park first or later in the day when it clears out. It does get really crowded.
