Spinoff to Billie Eilish Concert Tickets

I can't listen to main stream radio, no matter how hard I try. The artists and songs are just awful. They ALL sound the same, that nasal, breathy noise, where you are trying to decipher the lyrics. No distinguished beat. I won't even go into what they think is 'rap' because that is just plain garbage and the fact that ANYONE listens to it much less buys it is beyond my level of comprehension.

I don't get the hype over people like Billie Eilish or Ariana Grande or Halsey or Post Malone. I really don't think they are good when you compare them to Pink or Kelly Clarkson or Ed Sheeran (I'm sure I am missing a few more) who actually have voices. Ariana probably is the exception voice wise, but I think her songs are overly sexual and don't want my kids hearing them (my 8 year old asked what it was she wanted to 'hit' in the morning ).


I have started to listen to Latin pop on Spotify. There are beats and melodies and actual words being pronounced - even if I don't always know what they are singing Is it just me or are there really no talented artists out today? Or am I just getting old

I agree. I mean I listen to when it’s in the radio but find myself listening to the Spanish guitar stations on streaming services when at home. I love 90s and 2000s rap, old 80s music, old soul music, country, but top 40 lately is crap. And don’t get me started on mumble rap...

So agree with you!!!! Arianna has a great voice but you are so right...break up with your girlfriend, I'm bored is a terrible message, Post Malone has NO talent AT ALL!!! and Billie's lyrics are so raunchy. That's why I love sirius though. I can easily switch to coffeehouse classics or no shoes radio and hear talent.

Agree. I don't think I can name or have listened to a whole Billie Eilish song because every time one comes on, I end up switching it in less than a minute. Awful.

Recently I heard a song I loved on a BMW commercial. I googled it, found the artist and ended up building a Pandora station around it. I prefer to find music that way- might be stuff you never hear on the radio, but you find some different and really good stuff.

Very much agree with you.
Modern music absolutely sucks.
No one needs or has talent anymore, not with Autotune. Makes everyone sound like a superstar.

I stream Pandora, have a few different "stations" so I can listen to whatever I want - country, classical, rock, dance.
I also stream a German radio station, when I am feeling nostalgic.
At home I still have a huge CD collection and I find myself popping them into the player to listen.
Hooked on 80's and 90's music right now - Journey, Genesis, Bon Jovi with a little Def Leppard thrown in.

I have eclectic taste in music.

I honestly have never heard of Billie Eilish. Maybe I would recognize her songs but I don't know the name. I can't stand Ariana Grande's music. She has a big range but her voice and style hurt my ears.

I love all kinds of music but I mainly listen to hair bands and country

I don’t even know who Billie Elisha is. I don’t listen to music on the radio. The stations here are a bit different as they seem to just mix it all up.

I like DJs a lot and I can understand why people go to see them. There was one DJ that I saw over 20 times and saw in 4 countries. I was on a message board specifically for DJs. These days I can’t do it anymore. I simply can’t stay up the whole night like I used to do.

Something similar I like to DJs is electronic music, hence my screen name. I love Kraftwerk. They are just amazing. They haven’t done anything new in a long time, but their music is used in a lot of things. The influence is huge and you can hear it in songs now.

My biggest love is 80s music (Depeche Mode, New Order, etc.). 80s forever!

I find new music these days by Shazaming songs I like on TV shows or when I’m shopping. If I like a song, I Shazam and get it off Spotify and check out an album. I have found a few artists that I really like through this.

But I guess I’m getting old because I often rotate between my favourites. I’ve become a CBS 101.1 listener.
