TOH Pool Permits?

I am in the midst of figuring out putting in a semi inground pool. I'd like to go above board and get everything permitted. Has anyone done this and worked with someone who gets the permit sorted out?... or did you do it yourself? Not sure I can navigate the system and don't want to make one mistake and end up without the permit.

On the other had have you put in a pool and not gotten a permit? I hear they are cracking down on it...but all the people we quoted for install were saying most people don't get them. So confused!!!

We’re doing the same thing right now! The place where we are buying the pool from is filling out the paperwork for us. I picked up the permit application and dropped it off to them with a copy of our survey. They will give it back to me and then I have to bring it to the TOH.

Did you have PSEG do a hot stick test? That it our first step so I’m waiting on them to make an appt to come by. After they approve the pool, then I can drop off the permit papers.

We’d rather not risk not having a permit. If anything were to ever be questioned, we’d have to take out the pool after spending all this money. It’s just better for piece of mind.

Any reputable pool builder will take care of the permits for you.
I used Modern Comfort for my semi.
If someone tells you that you don't need permits for a semi...run.
The permits protect you as well and makes sure the work they do is done correctly and to code .
A semi does not raise your taxes so there is no reason NOT to get the permits
