Chocolate before bed
Anyone else not able to sleep if you have chocolate before bed. Actually, specifically Hersheys. Weirdest thing, but if I had a Hershey's choc bar or the choc kisses I don't sleep well. I have the same reaction with certain allergy meds. I'm not restless, but I just lay there relaxed and can't fall asleep.
ETA - I can't have coffee after around 1 - 2 PM either.
Ugh! The fun things coming with age. I used to never have this issue.

Chocolate has caffeine, so if you're sensitive to it, it could definitely affect you. There isn't a lot in there, but probably enough to keep you from sleeping well.

I could drink a red bull before bed and pass out almost immediately. Nothing and no one can keep me from sleep!
The only time that wasn't true was when I was pregnant. Pregnancy insomnia is LEGIT.

OMG me too! I get lattes with double shots of espresso and then come home and pass out on the couch half way through a movie. I could sleep on a picket fence, I swear

I envy those that can have anything with caffeine late in the day. I can’t really have caffeine because it makes me so jumpy. If I do have it, then it has to be before the afternoon.
As for the chocolate.... Hmm I can’t stand chocolate these days, but when I liked it Hershey’s was the worst. OP maybe you can try a better chocolate to eat?

Chocolate before bed
I felt like this just started happening to me this year and I assume it is age related. I always ate dark chocolate at night (all types of brands) but I had to cut down on it because I started having terrible anxiety/ trouble falling asleep. I think it must be the caffeine in hard chocolates.

There is more caffeine in a chocolate bar than there would be in the other desserts you mentioned. It is probably the caffeine.

I was like this for years. Then I had my DD. I’ve been heavily caffeinated for 3.5 years now.
Chocolate doesn’t bother me but a large coffee right before bed would be a problem. OP, you’re likely sensitive to caffeine. Eat your chocolate for breakfast

OMG that makes so much sense. My mom always complains that chocolate keeps her up at night. She can have a cup of coffee right after dinner though and that doesn't keep her up. I always thought she was nuts lol.
