Do these exist? The Pottery Barn Kids water bottles are horrible and always leak in DS's backpack and all over his planner.

I use a Thermos brand for DD that I got in Target. It doesn't leak.
This one- it comes in smaller sizes too.

We use the Contigo water bottles and haven't had leaks. The Thermos ones leaked for us.

Haha, I needed this post. Also, which are easiest to clean too? Do you buy new ones each year? Our bottles from last year are probably fine, but they have this one silicone plug that I can't get up around when cleaning. We only use for water, but I'm still worried it will grow mold up there where I can see.

The thermos one i posted is all metal and the spout is plastic but I just throw it in the dishwasher and it comes out like brand new every time.
It's going on 3 years now with this one.

She used to have one with a straw contraption and that was a nightmare to clean.

my DD had these. She had the sprout Not straw (she doesn't like the straw) while it didn't leak she did have it in her book bag and it opened (now if its because she didn't close it correctly or something hit it) it opened and her bag and books were soaked!! it was a disaster Chat Icon Chat Icon

so I ended up getting her a contigo no straw one that had an auto lock and that has been working much better!!!

ETA: the top opening in her bag happened more than once which is why i finally decided to get her a new one!

LOL my DH closes it so tight you need a wrench to open it so....
But yeah, she has a pocket on the outside of her backpack that holds her thermos so if it does spill or leak at least it's not inside the backpack with all her books and stuff!

We use the above posted Thermos one. Right in the dishwasher - comes out clean. I hate the rubber straw ones, this one has the mouth spout and that’s it.
We did have an ‘oops’ day where the top wasn’t clicked entirely closed and it just so happened that this is the same day my son threw it in the regular backpack compartment rather than the side water bottle pocket! So we were dripping away! But other than that, it’s great.

Which Contigo bottle is it? My girls picked out the thermos in Target, but I don't like how tall they are and also I could see these opening in their bags.

We had this one at one point (I felt it was too big but it looks like the make a smaller version of it. Don’t remember why I switched besides the height and I think she dropped it a tons so it was time for a new one anyway)
Contigo water bottle

This is what she uses now. I got a 2 pack in bjs for a good deal. They had girly colors and I guess technically it’s not a water bottle but we use it only for water and it keeps it cold. They make a slightly different one that I know other use for their kids also for water.

Thermos leaked for us too and now there is a recall on some of those Contigo water bottles.Pottery Barns leaked too. I now just find my self sending in juice boxes or water bottles.

Re: Water bottles for lunch boxes that don't leak

Both of my kids use the thermos funtainer. It's never leaked for us. I make sure all the pieces are in right though. I read that if you pull the silicone spout up too far it will leak. I like the way it all comes apart for washing.
