Has anyone had or attended a party there? Considering it for DD’s birthday. We have a lot of boys so I’m a bit hesitant but DD loves getting her nails done and dress up and, well, it’s her birthday. Any feedback appreciated.

I believed DD went there last year for a party and loved it. However, it was an all girl party and based on the photos I saw, I am not sure boys would enjoy. The dress up they had (which could have been chosen specifically by the party hosts, I am not sure) were all princess dresses. If you are doing a girls only party, I would def recommend

Thanks. I’m going to call them tomorrow to see what they say. I assumed it was assorted costumes (for boys AND girls).

DD has 8 boy cousins. I’d probably leave it up to them as to whether or not they wanted to come.

Not familiar with this particular place but having gone to parties at similar places, they did have an option for boys of pirate dress up etc.

The feminist in me is like “why are there no superhero costumes? Girls can be superheroes.”

And the cheapskate in me is like “if there are no superhero costumes the boys won’t come and that’s 8 fewer kids to pay for so I hope there are no superhero costumes.”

Re: As you wish in merrick

I had DD's 4th birthday there this past May. We had 16 girls. They do have a room filled with princess dresses and a room filled with superhero costumes. Kids are welcome to use whichever costumes they want, but the girls at DD's party never even went in the superhero section; they were too amazed with the selection of princess dresses and accessories (necklaces, crowns, gloves, etc.) They all got mini manicures and pedicures (no soaking in water, no cuticles, no cutting, etc. -- just painting), their hair done (braids, curls, buns, spray glitter), and light makeup applications. For the boys, they have spray glitter and the temporary hair color spray that's around during Halloween. They were super clean -- all makeup applicators were one time use and thrown away between each girl. They include a name personalized knock-off Wet brand paddle brush and each girl's hair is only combed with their brush which they get to take home. At the end they put on a runway show for all the parents and played some quick music based games. It was then pizza and cake time. If you do an early morning party you can swap put the pizza for bagels. Juice is included, along with water. You supply the cake and pay per pie for the pizza. The girls had a fabulous time and I literally brought nothing except for the cake. They supplied the invitations which I wrote out by hand. It was definitely expensive. I remember when I paid the bill at the end that I was really happy DH was loading the presents into the car and didn't see the total. It adds up quick. I think the package includes 10 girls (birthday girl free) and then you pay around $25 for each kid above that. Then, as I said, you are paying around $16 per pie and we chose to feed the adults. In addition, they include a certain percentage of gratuity which goes to tipping the girls who do the hair, nails, and makeup. They had about 4 assistants the day of DD's party. I personally don't think boys would really enjoy it. If anything, I think they would just stay in the superhero room, which has an XBox in it for entertainment and likely not interact with people. Hope this info helps! Book the party early, DD's party was in May and I booked in December. I thought I was calling way in advance, but there was actually only 1 time slot left on the day I wanted to have it.

Its a very cute party but I think 8 boys would be a little bored. The party we went to had 1 boy and he loved dressing up as a character and they spray painted his hair purple LOL Since he was the only boy they treated him like he was the rockstar among girls LOL Not sure if other boys would feel the same tho

I agree. But, the party should be for your daughter and not her cousins. You can always just invite them separately back to the house afterwards or something.

Agreed! We always do a party out of the house with friends and a small family/cousin party at home another day.
