Need brainstorming help for scavenger hunt
I'm hosting a scavenger hunt event for my local single parents group and I need help brainstorming ideas.
Here's my plan: I'm going to have a sheet of paper with all the things to look for at the local mall. We'll divide into groups and take photos of the things on the list. I created a FB event so I know who's going.
Here's what I need suggestions for: * I was thinking of having a thread with each item to take photos of and the groups post their photos in the comment thread. Not sure how else to do it since there will be at least 5 groups participating.
* I'd like to give out prizes but it would have to come out of my own pocket and I don't want to pay a lot so any suggestions would be good. I'm also not sure who would be the judges, and kids will be involved so I wouldn't want anyone getting upset - it's just a fun indoor activity.
* I'm looking for fun sayings so people can use creativity to come up with their interpretation. I don't just want to list "a hat" and then they go to Lids and take a photo of a hat. I'd like to have sayings like "Deck the Halls" and they interpret the saying any way they choose. It doesn't have to be holiday themed sayings but it'll be the beginning of November.
Thanks!

That sounds like a fun idea! Kinda like The Amazing Race, but just in the mall. I've been thinking of doing something like that with my Girl Scout troop. The only thing I can think of is a showing a photo of the Scales of Justice as a clue and then they have to go to Justice and take a selfie there. If I think of others, I'll post it.

I'll probably have some easy stuff and maybe some things that are specific to that mall (there's artwork around the place), but I thought it would be fun for them to be creative with sayings.

Need brainstorming help for scavenger hunt
I thought of some other clues to get them to a particular store:
-- You wouldn't need a wallet if everything cost a cent here. (JC Penney) -- Someone said the name of this store should be changed to Lady & Seamstress. Take a photo of the current name. (Lord & Taylor) -- At the train station, you don't want to get stuck in it. At the mall, you can get your jeans there. (The Gap)
I was trying to go to go with puns and play on words.
