Jersey Shore Fans- did you hear about this one?
So apparently Angelina posted some kind of rant on her Instagram or wherever about how Bed Bath and Beyond calls their registry a "Wedding" Registry instead of a "Bridal Shower" Registry. And how she doesn't want there to be any confusion because she doesn't want any gifts brought to her wedding- just cash. And the registry is strictly for the shower.
And then she went on to say how she dis-invited several people to her wedding because they didn't bring a gift to her engagement party. And one was her best friend.
And then she started saying that if anyone wants to send her a gift (meaning her followers) they could go to the BBB website and have it sent to her house. And these dumb ass people were commenting that they wanted to send her stuff and that everything was too expensive for the "poor" people so she commented that she added more items that were cheaper so that all her followers could afford to send her something
This whole thing just reeks of entitlement and greed. And she may very well be doing it all for publicity and to just create a buzz because hey, any publicity is good right? Even negative stuff that makes you look like a gold digging witch I guess. Because I can't imagine someone really speaking and acting like this and being serious and meaning it. But with her, I guess you never know.

Isn't she rich enough from the past couple of Jersey Shore seasons and promotion deals to buy that crap for herself?!?

Please there were people in LIW that would have disinvited people for not bringing gifts cash etc. so the fact Angelina did it doesn’t shock me when normal people act similar.

I think everything she does is for shock value because that’s all she has going for her. I never think any of her actions are genuine.

Re: Jersey Shore Fans- did you hear about this one?
The other thing I thought of is- isn't it common sense- at least here in the NYC/LI/NJ area that the registry is for the shower?
I know in other areas people do bring gifts to weddings but I have never attended a wedding where I even thought to bring a gift rather than cash. And I did not receive any registry gifts at my wedding either. (I had a few who gave gifts- but they weren't off my registry- just thinks like crystal vases, champagne flutes and champagne etc) Truth be told there wasn't much left on there after the shower.
I wouldn't even think to look at what the registry is called - wedding registry vs bridal shower registry. Who even thinks of that? Like I wouldn't look up someone's registry after receiving a shower invite and say- oh damn, this says wedding registry of Jack and Sarah, I better bring a gift to the wedding. She's just looking for attention with that rant too

the gifts to the shower and an envelope to the wedding is a cultural thing. from my experience, cubans, dominicans, puerto ricans, russians all do this (of course there are more, but these are the ones i have personal experience with). i've also noticed that larger, more metropolitan cities (nyc area, la area, miami) do this as well.
my mother's wedding dress came with a matching drawstring bag for her to put all the envelopes in as she went around the reception... the precursor to the card box.
when i've been in smaller towns and/or places in the midwest... people there tend to bring a physical gift to the wedding reception.

Yes I saw that! How tacky. Basically telling people she only wants cash for her wedding and also asking her fans to buy her stuff off of her registry. I honestly don't know how her fiancee is still with her after all that happened on JS.
Also, I am Italian-American, and yes most people to cash gifts to the wedding but a few of our guests brought registry items and some people did not give anything at all. Like yeah cash is preferred but I didn't go and make a big deal out of it.

I always thought of it as regional thing more than a cultural thing yes. Like I don't ever think to give anything other than money at a wedding- not based on my background or the bride and groom's- but based on what is the norm for where I grew up, kwim?

To stop being friends with someone because they didn't give you a gift for your engagement party- that to me is just really disgusting. If you want an engagement party fine- but shouldn't it be to celebrate your engagement? Not grab for gifts. I mean of course people will bring gifts to an engagement party- and I am sure 99% of them did. But come on. Just because someone didn't you no longer are inviting them to your wedding? Shallow and tacky.

I was also surprised to read that their wedding is very soon, apparently they are getting married on Nov 20, which is a Wednesday- I guess they saved a lot of money by getting married in the middle of the week.

I feel like all "celebs" do this now though. (using the term loosely here! lol) I think the Situiaton's wedding was on a Monday. And I feel like another real celeb got married a week or so ago on like a Tuesday.

Interesting. Maybe because of all the production that goes into it -- camera crews etc.
