Question about a gift
Thinking for something for my boyfriend.
He served in the Navy. Over the years somehow most of his pictures were tossed out. I reached out to his dad and he doesn't have any either. My boyfriend does have 1 from boot camp that he has posted on FB. I was thinking of printing it out and have it professionally framed for him.
My question is, if you know someone who served do they have their photo hanging in their house? Or is that odd and mostly for the parents?

Question about a gift
My brother served and he doesn't have any photos of himself displayed. I think my brother would really appreciate the gift but I'm not sure if he'd hang it. He's also relatively young and has a bachelor pad type place so it wouldn't fit the vibe. It might just depend on age and personality and stuff? Like my dad, who's obviously way older and also served, would LOVE it. I think it's a really thoughtful idea!

It would be 8x10 with an 11x14 mat/frame

i'm going to agree with shadows. my son (24), who is sharing a place with a cousin would probably think it's a lovely gift... but would not likely display it. all my relatives who are 30+ and have served, would happily display it.
so... i'm going to go with, go for it. your boyfriend is not a 24-year old bachelor who doesn't know how to decorate an apartment.
i think it's a lovely gift idea.
